Really hope some power starts to show itself because he's got the other tools.

He's 5'7" 155. I doubt any real power fills out unless he hits a mysterious growth spurt.

Hell, he's already hit one growth spurt since he's up to 5'9".

I see 5'7 3/4" to 5'8"1/2. I like the optimism but I am a realist. Growth plates usually close at 19 as well :(

Luke Adams is gonna be a guy to keep an eye on. 12th round pick out of high school last season. 6'4", 210 lbs R/R that's played third but probably moves to LF or 1B.

But like most recent recent Brewers signings he's got great vision and patience. 44 BBs to go with 49 Ks. He's got an .839 OPS this season in Carolina.

Totally random, but my family almost all the men on my mother's side have grown at least two inches after the age of 18. And weirder than that, my feet have grown .5 size in my late 30s and early 40s but I suspect that is because of working from home for so many years I stopped jamming feet in business shoes. So I think they just spread out a bit, but none of my old shoes fit me any longer.

Do we have a legit 3b prospect in the system? Feels like it has been like 30 years since we have had a young guy there we could project there as a stud.

They're trying to make Tyler Black a 3B this season, though I haven't seen many reports on how he's looked at the position. If he could stick there that would be great. Seven errors in 50 games isn't promising.

Otherwise all the prospects they've been linked to in the draft seem to be possible 3B too.

What DB said. Theyre trying Black at third but he doesnt have a great arm so not really viable. They really dont have any worthy mentions in terms of a shot at third. Zamora would make sense to move over there with the struggles Black has had, but we're talking UT level as their upside. The corner IF's are by far the thinnest part of the system.

Yeah, that's uncanny. Just take what the pitcher gives you, swing at a favorable angle, and let the bat do the rest. I wish baseball had a lot more guys like that, instead of so many 3TO guys piling up walks, K's, and homers.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

What a cool story this guy is.

Meeker touted a highly-successful career at North Allegheny High School, where he became the first freshman pitcher to pitch in a varsity game in program history, threw the school's first perfect game as a senior and helped the team to a WPIAL baseball championship the same season, before entering the college ranks. He played at Akron with former Wild Things Dom Iero and Josh Lapiana, Trinity HS product Joey Havrilak and current Pittsburgh Pirates' pitcher JT Brubaker before the school folded the baseball program. James transferred to Delaware, where he finished his collegiate career with three seasons with the Blue Hens. As a senior, he was 4-2 with a 3.23 ERA in 26 games (1 start).

He then came to the Wild Things, where he pitched in 19 regular-season games on the team's journey to the Frontier League playoffs and championship series appearance in 2018. That year, he posted a 3.94 ERA in 19 games across 29.2 innings of work. In 2019, Meeker pitched in 40 games and in 54 innings punched out 57 and posted a 3.17 ERA.

In 2020 during the COVID pod at Wild Things Park, Meeker didn't allow a run over 7.2 innings with 12 strikeouts in eight appearances for the Slammin' Sammies.

James leaves the Wild Things after an extraordinary start to the season. In 30 games, Meeker had worked 31.2 innings without giving up a run, had given up only 17 hits and walked 10 while fanning 43 batters. The 31.2 scoreless innings this season added to 2.1 innings to end 2019 scoreless, giving Meeker the franchise record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched.

Now he's off to the Brewers' farm system.

He's done really well out of the bullpen since signing. Have to figure he'll be sent to AAA soon enough.
