Man I would be disappointed if it’s Black. That shot does not look fixable. Might be the only prospect with Walker I could just not talk myself into. I am starting to think they are talking themselves into him as a guard that they can play as a 3 and not mess up next season. Which I don’t think is the right way to go about this
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I do wonder if that Anthony Black talk was a smokescreen maybe to get Utah to move up. 6+36 for 9+16.
9 Hendricks
11 Wallace
16 Podziemski

I'd feel super good about that draft. I like Black but the shooting does scare me a bit. I don't have the same worry with Wallace, even if he doesn't come close to the size of Black.

Picking up Podziemski is worth the fall off from Black to Wallace to me. Maybe Lively is available at 16 as another option

Seems like Washington is taking Black at 8. If Utah wants him the Magic or Detroit would be they way. Pacers at 7 already had too many picks they were selling off anyways/

Do you guys want Amen in that scenario?

Absolutely not.

The only situation that makes sense is if it’s Fultz instead of Cole.. and that seems like a pretty linear move if I’m being honest.

We sacrifice more 3pt shooting for a taller younger version of Fultz with better defense?
Well he doesn't shoot nearly as good as Fultz.

Jake Fischer says the Magic and Raptors have discussed the Magic moving back 2 spots from 11 to 13.

The return on something like that probably wouldn't be significant.

Perhaps I need to watch more film on Black because this confuses me.

Black / Suggs would be a nightmare for opposing offenses and a nightmare for our own offense.

Happy to be wrong. I’m sure I am.

Not that I endorse the deal but:
11 + Harris

for

13 + GTJ

I mean you have to do that. Especially with Trent opted in and only on a one year commitment.

Just don't do anything stupid like mortgage the future for a Band-Aid (i.e. no Dipo + lotto pick for Serge)

Suggs + 11 for a non-star (or old star) will make me sick to my stomach

Pick 6 betting odds:
Ausur +180
Black +300
Jerace +450
Amen +500
Whitmore +500
Hendricks +750

NOTE THAT WHILE AUSUR IS THE FAVORITE, HE IS -180 FAVORITE AT PICK 5. So Ausur is the favorite only based on someone jumping the Thompson twins at picks 4 and 5

The only reason they take Black is they think he can improve the shot. I do wonder even with the good picks of the front office (Paolo and Franz). Their downfall will be thinking they can just teach people to shoot. I think if you are trying to win next year and you take Black you should play him as a like connector backup. Maybe lineups of Anthony Harris Black Paolo Backup Center against second units could be intriguing but if you’re drafting him you can’t extend Fultz. Your drafting this guy at 6 he should be your PG for the future.

That would explain why GTJ opted in

Toronto moves 2 spots and gain a 26M exception

We get GTJ for 1 yr and bird rights for next summer

We still have 2 picks

Nice trade

Then we can swing with the 6th pick and get Bilal

Then trade 13 for future FRPS

Fultz, suggs, Cole
GTJ, Harris, Houstan
Franz, #6, BOL
Paolo,JI, Chuma
WCJ, Moe, goga
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe
Wcj, Goga, Moe

I was coming at it strictly from a positional thought.

Black, to me, is a primary ball handler. Suggs is not at this point.

So in order for Black to get on the court, one of the two primary ball handlers in front of him (Fultz/Anthony) would have to go.

Now my fear is that the front office doesn't see it that way and will use Black in an off ball role while also retaining Fultz and Anthony, which I'm firmly against.

Keep Anthony right where he's at (backup PG) and trade Fultz.

i cant see Anthony happy to play backup PG to Black

Scoot gaining momentum for #2....I knew this was a Jabari Smith #1 situation. It didnt make sense for Miller to be drafted ahead of Scoot.

Sounds right.

1. Wemby
2. Scoot
3. Miller
4. Amen

Same as it ever was.
