i don't think scoot/simons//sharpe/grant/nurk is really scaring anyone though.
not like a dame+siakam big 2 would imo. but i guess they don't want the risk of losing siakam in FA. but we took that risk with kawhi and it paid off.
I for one think Dame + Siakam is a **** awesome duo, especially if you fill it out with Grant/Nurk and then potentially move off some future 1sts to get some role players in the building. In this era of the NBA you don't need a big 3 as if you have one guy who can play like an MVP (Dame.. like Jokic or ECF Jimmy) and an all-star/all-nba guy next to him (Siakam... like Murray or Bam) you can make some serious noise.
Or they can tear it down and spend the next 20 years looking to draft a player who MIGHT be as good as Siakam, let alone as good as Dame.
Dame/Sharpe/Grant/Siakam/Nurkic is a HCA type squad. If Sharpe has any sort of breakout season they are even more dangerous (or you trade Sharpe in a subsequent move for an upgrade).
Like in theory they can draft Scoot so you can attach his salary, then trade Scoot/Sharpe/Simons/Knox for OG/Siakam and roll out Dame/OG/Grant/Siakam/Nurkic. That is a contender and at the end of the day that is what you build for.
