Assuming Wemby, Scoot, Miller, Amen, are gone.. what does everyone think Detroit does?

Keeping in mind Cade + Ivey appear to be their core and will both likely be pretty ball dominant..

Hendricks seems like a perfect fit for them and is arguably BPA as well.

Walker is a good fit and could end up providing some nice utility for Cade and Ivey as a connector.

Apparently their GM is on the hot seat - I could see him also taking a swing for the fences to save his job and take Ausar.

For whatever reason Whitmore doesn’t seem like a fit there

i wonder, is he just on the hot seat for fans or from ownership. Seems like they have made good draft decisions lately. injuries didnt help them

If we do a 11 and Harris for GTJ and 13, that would work and still land us a good prospect at 13.

I assume most people will not agree with this, but I would rather give Cole 15-20M AAV than I would give Fultz 25+ AAV, especially if that's closer to 15 for Cole.

I say that because we already know for a fact Cole can thrive in a certain role. Not sure if Fultz can.

I was coming at it strictly from a positional thought.

Black, to me, is a primary ball handler. Suggs is not at this point.

So in order for Black to get on the court, one of the two primary ball handlers in front of him (Fultz/Anthony) would have to go.

Now my fear is that the front office doesn't see it that way and will use Black in an off ball role while also retaining Fultz and Anthony, which I'm firmly against.

I think that's what worries me as well. The logical thing would be to groom Black to be a Fultz replacement, and jettison Fultz while he has value and is under team control. But this contradicts every report out of Orlando that last season made them Fultz believers and Cole is being dangled in trades.

The thing I can see the Magic doing is drafting Black and believing he has the opportunity to play both SG and backup PG. In that scenario our three point shooting will have to come from Stuff the Magic Dragon. If the Magic do pick Black, you'll hear the slap of my palm on my forehead from whatever state you are in when Weltman says, "What we like most was Anthony offers us positional flexibility..." HE IS A TALL POINT GUARD WHO IS BEST DOING POINT GUARD THINGS. Even he knows it, which is why he is telling people he loves Gilbert Arenas and compares to Josh Giddey.

I remember watching Giddy before the draft and was amazed by his vision and passing. I watch Black and it’s “Player three feet away from him is open...Simple pass...ermergherd!!! Josh Giddy!!”

Just doesn’t have the same vision. He’s a nice structural player who comes in and gives you solid minutes. I don’t see this amazing wow passing or vision like Giddy what so ever.

I see a Haliburton type passer when I look at Black. He can see over the defense and pick it apart.

I honestly think we will, and actually think we should, take Coulibaly at 6… You don’t risk him not being available at 11 if he’s your home run pick… I think this throws the draft into chaos… That puts 4 picks between us at 11 and one of Ausar/Amen, Walker, Whitmore, Hendricks possibly available… If not we can take the need pick of Lively or trade back and get a shooter and more assets…

This is what I say about Cole all the time. Do we know how well he would thrive as a starter? Would he be a good starter?

Too many gaps in his game so far to say he ever will be a top 20 starter.

But off the bench. He is approaching top 10 imho.
