No we don't. We had a logjam with too many guards before. You add another PG right now, and we'll be right back where we started, with another logjam.

It seems like people forget JB is a starting guard and eats a ton of the minutes up there. White/Brogdon/Pritchard/JD for what amounts to maybe 64 minutes of play time is not big deal. 32 for white, 25 for Brogdon, 7 for Pritchard is fine. JD for injuries and garbage time. If we sign a Josh Richardson type to provide backup wing minutes there are even fewer guard minutes to fill.

Did Jaylen Brown start a single game at guard this season? The days when he could fake it at 2 are over imo. He can't defend the position.

No logjam if Brogdon isn't going to be healthy.

What would it take to get Murray?

I don't know if we have anything the Hawks would want unless they want to blow the team up for picks.

I guess you missed the tweet from earlier today that said that he might not even need surgery and if he does, he's expected to be fine by the time the season starts.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Damion Lee, Ty Jerome, Nowell, Pat Bev, some names out there available for the minimum most likely. Possibly even Westbrook.

That's what PP & JD are for....

According to BB reference he played 39% of his minutes at SG last year, 45% the year before that.

If true Boston doesn't have any need for a PG IMO, Brogdon/White/PP and Tatum all can handle those duties easily.

Draft the best Big Wing in a draft that has a few good prospects.

Anything is possible right now but if Scoot Henderson is off the board at #2, I doubt it

When you give players the ability to decide their destination, whether its through a NTC or an option year, you tend to get less for them. When a player is under contract for three years you tend to get more for them.

Example A of why the c's will re-sign Jaylen rather than trying to deal him as an expiring. Less team control you have the less you get in trades.

I mean I'd be SHOCKED if Jaylen is traded for Scoot. You just traded for a 28 year old 7'3 center with significant injury concerns, that doesn't strike me as the kind of thing you follow up by trading your all-nba wing for a 19 year old. This is a win sooner, not later, move.

I'm not sure Brogdon or PP are even PG's to be honest. Those guys are SG's really. PP because he can't beat people off the dribble and Brogdon because he has blinders. I'd like to use those guys + Grant to get a more pass first point if possible

We all love Derrick White, but in no way is he a championship level starting PG. Neither is Brogdon.

I think it's interesting that there's been rumors that Boston has been talking to Atlanta. Young and Murray appear to be a bad fit and Murray will be a FA after a year. Both teams have cap issues and we all know Brown would be open to playing for the Hawks.

Both teams could save money with a trade with these basic parameters-

Boston gets Murray and Hunter

Atlanta gets Brown and Brogdon

A 3rd team gets John Collins in a salary dump.

Assuming Boston would re-sign Murray and Atlanta would re-sign Brown, both teams would save money this year AND going forward. Boston would even be able to re-sign Grant.

Murray/White
Hunter/Pritchard
Tatum/Hauser
Porzingis/Grant
Rob/Al

For the 1st time I'm starting to think something like this makes sense

Wow. You could be onto something. This would truly be wild...

Addition by subtraction. Poole was headache and GS is probably way over the Cap. GS also had to trade Poole to keep D Green as you mentioned.

Unfortunately, you are probably wrong.

Beal was salary dumped, GSW traded Poole for a 38 y old, gave up picks to do it. Both guys averaged 20+ last season. Market for productive but overpaid players is being set.

This is a preview for Brown's trade value next summer. Salary relief or take someone's garbage back. Imagine packages built around LaVine or Towns for Brown. Horror.
