My concern is Sexton. If he didn't work out on Utah, a team with spacing bigs and putting him in a decent scenario, I do not see him working in Detroit.

Who says he didn't work out in Utah? He had a pretty good year for the Jazz and I think they would be fine to just keep him. Not even sure the rumor about him being available is anything more than someone assuming that if Utah is targeting Black, it would make Sexton obsolete. Honestly though, I think he would be great in a 6th man role anyway.

If Sexton is available for trade, I think that means Utah is listening to offers, not that they want to get rid of him.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I think Sexton would be fine as a combo guard sixth man. I don't want to go into next season without impact players in every role.

One things for damn sure, the direction of the team next year, and what impact players they will have, will be really fleshed out after today.

I also wouldn't mind Sexton in the guard rotation. Dude can score, thats for damn sure, and having that off the bench would be nice.

There's a very, very good chance that the only things we do today are pick rookies at #5 and #31. We might swing some crazy trades, but it's definitely not guaranteed.

What Detroit does at #5 will determine the next 5 picks for other teams. I think the Jazz have an offer on the table for the Pistons to trade back to #9, where they would likely have their choice of Whitmore or Hendricks. Detroit will decide after the first four picks are taken what direction they want to go. I'm not sure what the Jazz's trade offer is exactly, but it likely involves #9, a future pick and maybe taking back some salary.

Utah may be targeting Jarace Walker as much as Anthony Black at 5, imo.

It sounds more and more like Whitmore will be the guy to drop to 9. If Detroit has soured on him as rumored I'm not sure a trade with Utah is in the cards.
