They're gonna play this non-shooter on the wing and keep all the incumbent guards. Sickening.
He's gotta be just saying that. I mean, what's the rotation?

Whatcha talkin 'bout?

Talking about Black.

Weltman says they see Black as able to play the 1, 2 and 3.

Which reading between the lines, they're not going to play him at PG next year since they already have two incumbents eating up all the minutes.

Bad bad bad.

it's because people decide to become man fans instead of the team fans....so when they pass up on someone they want they jump out the window.....we needed shooting....he's more than adequate there

We all spend weeks looking at these mocks drafts and thinking that Dick was better than Jett. I don’t think there is much difference we just get indoctrinated by the mocks.

This could be true.

Let's not be weird.

It's irrelevant but I'll go there. I legit hate the look off both Black and Jett Howard's faces. Both very punchable. But that will change if they kick ass for us.

Don’t you think he will run the offense for the second unit and play with Harris and Cole?
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I hope to be wrong, but the Howard pick seems so unnecessary.

how? lmao....people crying about shooting....we get one.....but let me guess it's not the shooter you want?

It's more than that.

There was a plenty of talk about Gradey's defense. I was not impressed at all with Howard's defense, both individually and within the team.

He didn't rebound for his team either. He was a let down for Michigan this year.

But you're taking this approach as singular with everyone, so I understand why you say this.

The Orlando Magic just had the worst draft of all the NBA teams. Golden opportuntity to take Taylor Hendricks at 6 and we take Anthony Black and some guy I never heard of in Jett Howard. Both Black and Howard are GUARDS and they are not as anywhere as good as Scott or the Henderson brothers.

What hurts for me is Jett wasn't even the best Michigan player still on the board for me. Bufkin is going to be damn good.

Yay, Bufkin (the better Michigan prospect) in our division. That's gonna be painful if he turns out well.

The ringer profile on Jett Howard, with Desmond Bane as a comp
PLUSES
Knockdown 3-point shooter with the potential to hit off movement. He’s also comfortable pulling up from midrange and loves using a floater.

High-IQ wing who knows how to be a playmaker, not just a scorer. He thrives in NBA-style actions, a lot like Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks do for the Grizzlies. He’ll slingshot around screens or handoffs toward the middle of the floor, take a dribble to draw the defense, and then fire a pass to a big man rolling to the basket. It’s an action every pro offense runs, and he runs it to perfection because of his improvisational feel.

He wants to be a good defender. Effort is never an issue; it’s just his positioning and awareness. But he hustles to recover to shooters, logs help blocks, and fights over screens. In overtime against Ohio, he made multiple clutch plays down the stretch to help Michigan get the win with on-ball stops and blocks.

He’s the son of former NBA All-Star Juwan Howard, who played 19 years in the league.

MINUSES
On the ball, struggles to contain faster perimeter scorers. He gets too flat-footed, which hurts his lateral quickness.

Loses track of his man too often while off the ball since he ball watches. There are instances when he’ll completely leave his man open behind the arc because of confusion about who he’s supposed to match up against.

At the end of the day they nailed the Franz pick and I never saw that coming so we'll see. We added a bricklayer with the 6th pick and we added a solid shooter with the 11th. Just not what we had in mind. Im pretty disappointed with this but we gotta wait and see.

Jett had the 4th highest 3PA PER36 in the entire draft class. He puts them up for sure.

Tough road for him to excel if Hawks keep Murray and Young.

I don't know anything about these players, but I want my GM's to pick based on what they see in a player, not based on mock drafts. Every single season mock drafts get proven wrong.
