But he's just a much worse NBA prospect if you don't think he's a full time PG.

We're in luck then because Fultz' contract is expiring soon and Cole and Suggs both haven't impressed enough to be long term starting point guards.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I just think at 6 you don't pick a guy who will only get to play his best position if there's injuries. That just feels like bad process to me.

I get that logic, but I was a proponent for taking Hawkins at 6, so clearly I think there's still value in 6th or 7th man in a rotation with such a pick. Plus, we've seen encouraging signs of growth from all our starters who are all young enough to continue developing still.

Lakers got a good one there. They just added their own Jamal Murray. No need to sign D'Lo anymore.

I agree if there's no path forward at all ever for him there. But we also weren't going to start a rookie or hand him an exorbitant amount of minutes with a team expecting to compete. A connector role short-term isn't the worst of things.

We also always have this log jam debate until guys get injured or specific lineups get played and it's never as rigid as people assume.

JHS is a nice pickup for the Lakers, he's not that much worse of a prospect than Anthony Black. Also I had this pick in my mock draft, yay!

Maybe it’s me getting older, or the new posters on here that are so young. But seeing everyone’s emotions is fantastic entertainment. I’ve literally popped popcorn and had a huge bowl of ice cream while reading this entire topic so far while watching the draft. It’s great stuff

Is 30% 3pt shooting his ceiling?

Paolo is a point forward, right? Franz is basically a point forward, too. They play alongside Fultz. All three have enough touches to be playmakers and create for others. There's gonna be plenty of touches for Black.

Ausar was off the board and teams don't think Cam can guard anywhere which has thrown off mocks.

The guys we had available were forwards, Walker, Hendricks etc and we are more than set at those positions.

We take a chance on the pg talent who checks every box besides the shooting.

You're kidding yourself if you think Fultz isn't getting another contract at this point.

There's no way, no how the Magic are letting their starting PG walk for nothing if they make the playoffs next year. Regardless of how Markelle plays individually.

They've backed themselves into a corner IMO. The likely team success the Magic will have next season is going to force their hand on some personnel decisions they likely shouldn't make.

I completely disagree. Guys like Dick or Hawkins had far much more in their bag than Jett. Jett to me is pretty much a spot up shooter. Most of his points only came off a few dribbles. He typically just shoots.

Really? I've watched Gradey and Jordan and i've never seen them do anything close to this

They have this in their bag? you going to have to show me because i haven't seen it

He has his moments like every player but watch a full clip of Jett and that is not his game at all. He is mostly a shooter that is his bread and butter.

i've watched enough games not just clips....he definitely has his warts no doubt but he can shoot the ball and he has ability off the dribble...much more than i've seen from gradey and jordan other than a one dribble pullup....like gradey by the numbers only had maybe 2 or 3 isolations the entire year.....it's just not his bag....in order in terms of shooting i have Jordan, gradey and Howard but i think Jett has more ability off the dribble than both....has the ability to turn into a legit scorer rather than just a specialist in my eyes....no matter what....if we picked Gradey or Hawkins or Jett...in my eyes they're all role players

No of course not, but that's what he is right now. And it seems like it's gonna take at least a couple of years for him to develop into a passable shooter.

And playing him off the ball just extrapolates that weakness.

I feel for Whitmore. Being talked about as high as 5 and even 4 and then find yourself still waiting to have your name called at 19.

Miami would've make something out of Whitmore. GSW don't really need another Kuminga but maybe Whitmore carries trade value?

Here's a call - Houston takes Whitmore at 20 and trades him plus more (Tari?) to Detroit for Ausar.
