Per Keith Smith: "Celtics should be in range to use the $5M Taxpayer MLE after they trade Marcus Sasser to the Pistons and drop out of the #25 pick."

So Brad thinks he can sign an all-star with $5 million MLE?

Re: 2023 NBA Draft, part 2 – Thurs, 8PM, June 22
We entered tonight with 11 players signed and $7.3M of room below the 2nd apron. We get hard capped there if we use the $5M MLE. We would not have been able to do that and fill out the roster with vet mins if we stayed at #25 and paid that rookie scale deal. By paying #31 and a rookie minimum deal instead, we clear a good amount of the space needed for that.
It’s literally pinching pennies but it’s a hard cap. You can either use the MLE or you get nothing. Every dollar counts here.

GG Jackson should be the pick at 31.

And as Simmons seemed to indicate, they plan on using the TMLE...
