Whitmore definitely has natural abilities that Jaquez doesn't display. The ability to play above the rim is in Whitmores repertoire

Re: NBA Draft Thread 2023
I like the Jaquez pick. Cam Whitmore's draft downfall is telling when even the Warriors passed on him. Athletic, high-upside players who are not skilled at the game is a tale as old as time. See Cam Reddish, Josh Jackson, Justice Winslow...

Jaquez's footwork is so impressive. That's what jumps out to me the most. He's so smooth with the pump fakes and post-ups. He gets guys to jump into him like Jimmy.

He looks fantastic. He must have had some wild red flags for that many teams to pass on him.

I also think this pick might kill the Dame dream, JJJ is not a player any other team (exept us) will want in a trade.
We needed an infusion of talent,
we got an infusion of hustle.

I’m still gonna give the kid a chance like I do with everyone we pick so, he could be super dope let’s see in summer league.

Apparently, he didn't show enough intensity in private workouts, and he didn't practice a lot while at Villanueva.
Both things I think the Heat culture could fix. Might be just immaturity issues.
Anyway, any news on DAME????

Yea and?
I expect him to look good in summer league, he's like 3-4 older from most of these dudes.
What will he look like against NBA vets who are bigger and more athletic then him?
Will he back them down like it's the 80's
