Sham reports that Dame is not happy…

No ****.

If we don’t bring in the type of talent he wants then between now and around FA it seems we should expect a trade request

Who's even picking at each spot anymore? Boston can go ahead and stop trading with everybody.

Yep, clocks ticking and times not on his side. I would say maybe 2 weeks Dame is giving the team.

Really starting to wonder if Cronin even wants to keep Dame or if hed rather push him out so they can full restart.

I do think these are the opening moves of the next generation Blazers after Dame.

I'm thankful Portland did not make a desperation move for doing something really
stupid, just delays Portland's inevitable rebuild, if the team gave away all their
future picks to build a team that loses in second round.

Now they can do what the Pelicans, OKC Thunder, Houston are doing which is
build a very young talented base with tons of cap space. Portland will be
very young with a potentially elite BC that will be together for the rest of
the decade.

This is how historically all the really good Blazers teams have been built for the city
is not a FA destination. Draft good young players and allow them to grow together
for those guys can't leave in free agency until they have finished their second contract
with the team. Scoot/Sharpe might be Portland's starting BC for the rest of the decade.

I love Dame, but if he's upset that the team didn't move #3 for a merely solid player (and we can be pretty confident by now nothing better was on the table), then I'm glad he's not the GM.

If he's pushing Dame out he's really being stupid about maximizing value.

I suspect Scoot blew them away in a way they weren't expecting leading to a change in direction from what they'd planned

Hornets have had a really solid draft for they have drafted a player at each position and
all of them have a chance at making the team

I'm impressed you can tell which players are actually going to Charlotte. Granted, I'm refreshing my glass more often than the draft board at this point...

Rupert…. :banghead:

I’m not even mad about this pick based on who’s left but he’s a very long term project

Like him as a developmental SF, we don’t have that on the roster right now. Started the year projected as a low lotto pick.

I watched the ESPN mock draft show and Rupert was their choice at 23 and Portland got him
at 43. He was the last guy in the NBA green room

I've seen as much tape on this guy as they just aired on ESPN. Probably no predictably rotation-ready players left at this point so hey, why not? Defensive upside!

Would've like to take a flyer on GG Jackson but I don't mind the pick.

Dame/Scoot/?
Simons/Sharpe/Johnson
Little/Rupert/?
*Grant*/Watford/Walker
Nurkic/?/?

Assuming we re-sign Grant

Other primary FAs
Thybule
Eubanks
Reddish
Winslow

That’s not looking promising if we’re going to be competitive…
