The real question is how strong are his hands?

Fred is a giant compared to nowell

Nowell is a baller who just has extreme physical limitations that will require him to overachieve like crazy to become like a poor man's fvv.

I like him way more than fred he actually has court awareness and know when to pass and who is the best option

Absolutely love this signing. Kinda thought we'd be getting him after some of the workout chatter. The front office loves guys who have something to prove. Nowell is a flat-out baller. He's got a lottery pick skill set. Going to be interesting to see if he can "overcome" his height in the pros.

Apropos of nothing, Marcus Stroman is one of the best pitchers in the NL right now. HDMH.

Looking at this video, if FVV played like this guy, he would be a consistent all-star and a much better player than he is now. Van Vleet can hopefully learn a thing or two about passing and vision from him.

To me, this looks like a culture signing. Let players like him show others how to play the right way in the G-League and develop others with an unselfish mindset.

All the usual suspects are upset about this I see. The same guys who were saying we miss on players because we only draft 6’9 defensive players are upset we draft a white shooter not known for defense and a small guard.

I would say I’m shocked but I’m not.

I like him. At a minimum, he's somoene who will run the SL team and make those games watchable.

Awesome. He's going to be the man in the 905 and raise the grit factor off the bench.

If he can mold his game similar to JJ Barea and Fvv but obv has his passing instincts then he'll have a good career in the league.

I remember how much of a problem JJ was in the playoffs when the Mavs won it all, same with Fred in 2019.

Watched him in the tournament. A special player. Could be the next Isaiah Thomas (Celtics version).

I actually think “blowing off the play” was part of it. Draw the defenders’ eyes away/let them let their guard down for a half second to allow the backdoor lob.

100% by design.
