I haven’t seen this much discord on an NBA forum since June 28, 2012, when we drafted Michael Kidd-Gilchrist over Beal and Lillard. But that was a willful choice. You shouldn’t feel too bad that Beal and Lillard have chosen not to play for your franchise.

In bball news, I think JJJ fills a role here. We werent trying to hit a home run here. I mean swinging for the fences when I say that. We took the guy whos skill set matches us to a tee. We might trade Strus, Caleb, or Duncan. J cubed will take some of those minutes potentially. Hes got some advanced skills that wont take time to develop. Having a guy whos ready to go while still operating to make a big splash makes a lot of sense to me.

I've settled into a similar viewpoint after airing some frustration right alongside RBW last night about not going for other guys whom I personally thought could still have solid floors but more upside. The big picture perspective for me is that this Miami Heat FO considers themselves to be an every other year sort of draft team typically. It turns out, we selected in the 1st round in back to back drafts. Last year was a project upside play (Jovic), this year is a pick for a role player to complement the existing roster construction.

Now it's time for young Jaquez to start strokin

Really depends what you mean by polish. I’d consider Podz more multi-faceted. And of course younger.

In this case Jaquez seems to have a more complete midrange package and seems to have a better all around game although Podz has that gunner style three point attack game.

Interestingly, their midrange numbers are pretty similar:

39% of JJ’s shots last season were 2 point jumpers(midrange) and he hit them at about 40% (32% assisted)

31% of Podz’s shots last season were 2 point jumpers (midrange) and he hit them at about 43% (19% assisted).

So the number of unassisted midrange shots they each created for themselves is likely similar. JJ obviously is a more effective driver to the rim (42% of his attempts at the rim finishing around 63%—about half assisted), even tho Podz is no slouch there (29% of attempts at rim finishing around 60%—vast majority unassisted).

As expected, the biggest gap between the 2 is with 3 point shooting, where Podz is elite.

Different positions, different players, obviously JJ has more versatile defensive potential.

One more fun parallel between Podz and JJ is that both clearly seem to have tanked their standing reach measurement on purpose so that they could juice up their vertical jump numbers. They have 2 of the lowest standing reaches among their positions in the whole draft class and 2 of the best vertical numbers (despite both being average athletes).

These dudes always scheme to craft things to their advantage--savvy dudes lol

The General Board (!!!!!) doesn't hate on the team as much as our own fans because all of them recognize, at the very least, that we have one of the top front offices in the game today and the best coach, because they see their own and the teams around us, in comparison. This board, though?

Not for me.

Sorry to those of you who see the big picture, but I can't fight our own fans anymore. I'm too old for this...

I've been calling this sh*t out for several seasons now giving no f*cks if they ban me. This bullsh*t gets real f*cking tiring. Especially when you have fake ass fans posting that same drivel all damn season. Don't blame ya at all. Don't waste your energy.

If you just leave then, the bad posters keep outnumbering the good ones. There are a lot of smart individuals and a lot funny ones too, you just have to separate the good with the bad. For me this place is where I decompress from my busy azz management life working 60+ hours a week. So If I read something dumb, I just ignore it.

True. I feel you. I actually love this forum for the same reason. Life's stressful & like to come here to get away form it all.....

.....But there's just so much BS to sift through often. So much whining & complaining while fans frm other teams wld love to have the 'problems' we have. We're just over a week removed frm playing in the NBA finals and cats are still complaining that had FO done their job we may have won when we had no f*cking business even being there to begin with but we achieved it because of the very people they complain about - it's f*cking ridiculous.

Most teams wldn't have survived the bloody play-in. These fans make it out like taking out the 1st & 2nd seeds is a piece of cake, then taking out the ECF is easy & the path to the NBA finals is a walk in the park. F*ck outta here man. Buncha spoilt mother f*ckers. That takes decades of foundations, preparation, development, toughness & resilience built over time. That wasn't luck. Luck doesn't take you all the way to the NBA Finals as an 8th seed lol.

Other teams wld kill to be in our position. You cld argue that it's their fault for making stupid decisions...that's the point - we don't make half the dim-witted mistakes over half of these teams make. You shld feel blessed to be a fan of this organization.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Not gonna lie--Idk about Juan Wick. We got a rare hispanic dude showing up in the NBA and people immediately want to disregard his actual name and call him Juan instead. Not great lol

You should be calling out your own bullsh*t. Stupid mother f*ckers like you keep regurgitating bullsh*t about not being a real fan if you are critical of your team. This is a public forum. Anybody can say whatever the fu*k they want.

Breaking news: It’s ok to be critical about something that you love. For instance, it’s possible to love the Heat and also say that the Heat front office has not made good decisions in terms of free agency for several years.

Saying that you don’t want to see anybody that has been critical celebrating a title is insane. My response to that is for you to go suck a d*ck. Who the fu*k are you? Free speech mother fu*ker.

Report me. I don’t give a fu*k.
