Defense and handles. Finally.

Bailey is the one of the group who struggles to play under control, but he is very athletic, good defensively, and offers enough offensively such that he should not slide to round 2 as currently projected.

He's really talented, have to think Bouknight's time with the team is coming to an end with both NSJ and Bailey coming up behind him. Although it's probably a guarantee that Bailey will be playing on a 2-way contract this year.

We have as guards

LaMelo, Brandon Miller, Rozier, Bouknight, McGowens, Nick Smith Jr (all guaranteed) and now Bailey, and that's not counting any vets we bring back like Dennis Smith Jr, Svi, and Maledon

As a dual Lakers/Hornets fan I hope the Hornets give him away to the Lakers as I think he needs a change of scenery and could be good DLo insurance if he doesn't return. What do you think is fair return for Bouknight at this point? 2 2nds?

Espn ranked him 5th, 247sports had him 10th best freshman. Guy has a ton of raw talent but played on a Veteran UCLA team so he had a smaller role most the year playing the 2 guard to Tyga Campbell.

Really what sold me was his final 6 games and how well he played at the combine scrimmages. Felt like he was one of the top 3 guys that played there. Averaged 17.5 ppg over his last 6 games which were the conf tourney and Ncaa tourney so he played his best basketball when they needed him the most.

I think long-term his best position will be point guard and if he went back to school he could of easily been a lottery pick next year. His size is iffy at 6-3 barefoot and only a 6-7 wingspan. Not a super athlete, but really skilled in the mid range game, shot 39% from three on a low number of attempts and he plays at his own speed, doesn't get sped up. Kind of reminds me a bit of Dlo and Brunson in that way. Will probably be a guy that needs some time to develop into a true pg though because he played mostly off ball this year.

Bouknight has precisely nil value. He is slightly negative if anything as he is owed money and is not an NBA player. Unless he does something drastic in preseason I hope we don't exercise his fourth year option.

We needed some guys who could create off the dribble late in the clock. Bailey and Smith give us that. Guys who can take some pressure off Melo and do something for themselves.

Summer league gonna be fun with these three. I like Bailey maybe about even with Miller. Give them both a B+

He also played high school basketball with Bronny James.

Summer League team of Bailey- NSJ- McGowens- Miller- Nnaji is a dope squad.

Is he more of a PG or like a Terry type combo?

He played SG in college mostly, but that was because Tyger Campbell had already been running show for 4 years. I think his best position in NBA will be a PG.
