There we go. I gave him Derrick White's hair so we can make fun of him for being unfortunate and not a medical condition.

Ron Artest before he became Meta World Peace...

Ron was built like a brick wall

He is a longer, younger Marcus Smart without the Alpha in the dawg

If Derrick White is the buffalo, then Jordan Walsh has got to be the calf

He bites too quickly and overcommits sometimes on defense but recovers because of his wingspan. He moves his feet really really well on defense but I can't tell his lateral speed. Combine results? Some plays I can't tell if he's being out-quicked but beating guards to their spot with smart anticipation or if he's just beating guards to their spot with smart anticipation.

His measurables look pretty good for lane agility drills and good verticals. Only 6 forwards ahead of him for LA.

Question for the college basketball fans.

Are players allowed to play more physical defence? Some of his steals looked like fouls for me or at least they'd be borderline when u guard stars in the nba. Dont know maybe i was way too drunk

Depends a little on the conference, but the SEC is relatively physical

Sure. But so is Wemby and Scoot and lots of other guys who got drafted in the top 20 last night :)
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I don't mind the player/pick as we really needed another defensive wing and he can contribute in that manner right now.

I can get behind that the very long term (3 year) project players just don't make sense for a team that wants to win right now and Brad is probably steering away of another Taco Fall mania situation returning. This just isn't a "developmental" roster/team right now.

I think I had an expectation for pick 25 and feel sort of miffed as Walsh just isn't there yet, but I guess there wasn't anything THAT much better that would help short term. Getting all the 2nd round picks at least gets us flexibility that we wont have much longer and we still got a serviceable player.

Some excerpts from Sam Vecenie's summary of Walsh:

"The idea of Walsh on defense is tantalizing. He has the exact kind of measurements that you’re looking for on that end in terms
of a versatile, switchable weapon who can be utilized in a variety of situations as a potential switchable stopper.I also have a real
affinity for guys like this in terms of his feel for the game. He just understands how to move and how to use space offensively."

but....

"I’m just quite worried about his overall skill level right now and think he’s probably a multi-year project to develop it."

So he's a project with upside.

A slightly bigger Mattise Thybulle if he came out as a frosh instead of a geezer senior.

More importantly, Walsh and JD Davison are everyone's new binkies

If Brad Stevens acts quick enough, then Jordan Walsh can get his #13 he had in college.

Hey man I still haven't given up on Yam or Begarin either, even tho both guys seem unlikely to come over this year.

They keep talking about his shooting, he was bad his lone year, but he isn't inept offensively.

Yeah, sure I been watching anything I can find, I'm going to crown him as I do, but I'm telling yall... Brad done did it with JD and Walsh!

I think Walsh is gonna be special on defense, but I think he's going to surprise offensively in time!

I am not a fan of HEARTLESS but I think he has been killing it in this job! Borderline GM (?) of the year these few years! Been a magician! We haven't fully cashed in, yet, but this has been masterclass!

Didn't realize he shot 34% from 3 his last 19 games. Hopefully he found something...all he needs is a baseline 3 at that rate and he'll be fine to step in this year.
