And Ham is a renowned homer IMO, so if he’s talking about trades the Kings will be giving up little regardless who it is
I can imagine the package he thinks is feasible for OG (not close whatever it is). What is his package? I need a laugh

Ham isn’t reporting anything, he’s just speculating (unless you have an article instead of off the cuff podcast talk you can share)
Aldridge a respected national reporter, and yes, it could have come down to Keegan being off the table as to why Beal isn’t here
Dude, it's not just an off the cuff comment on a podcast. Multiple Sacramento reporters have said it. What did these guys do to you?
Beal to Kings
"The Kings made inquiries, but were unwilling to include Keegan Murray, their first-round pick from last year, whom the Wizards had tried to move up to select in the 2022 draft, in a potential trade," David Aldridge reported.
Anyone that isn't a superstar
"The Kings made inquiries, but were unwilling to include Keegan Murray, their first-round pick from last year, whom the XXX had tried to move up to select in the 2022 draft, in a potential trade," Stated the most obvious reporter ever.
Ok, if your talking about like Bee reporter Cameron Salerno saying the Kings view Keegan like Sabonis/Fox and he would be stunned if Keegan was shipped, we can agree to disagree on whether he is sharing an opinion or outletting the Kings FO intentions
I’m not sure Ham has said anything official either
For a Sac fan you have always been the most anti Sac guy I’ve ever seen here.
So basically in a nutshell what YOU are saying is that any guy reporting nationally NOW who once had a local connection to a team (like, oh yeah THE LOCAL MEDIA GUYS) has a better insight and information. That’s pretty hypocritical if you ask me.
And addressing your response to my comment on OG above. Yes, you are correct. I do NOT see OG as a number two/20+ point scorer. That’s not in his range. He’s a really good role player. A guy who might see an all star bid once because his team wins sixty and are champs. He’s not anything more than that though and will not be.
And I reiterate - he misses way too many games to be reliable for the money (25+) that he is going to demand.
Not at all sure what your hard on for Keegan is, but really he looks as good or better because he has much better offense king term and will learn to defend at a superior level and already is showing that he is developing that aspect of his game.

I’m not questioning the integrity/journalism of either
I think Aldridge is reporting something and the Kings reporters are sharing their opinion
If Aldridge was to tweet the Wizards are in love with Deni, so I can’t believe they would think of trading him for 15th pick right now (akin to Salerno), I wouldn’t take it as a report.
Are you paraphrasing that I think OG is a 20+pt second option again because I never said it. I agree with the health take, it favors Keegan.
How about if someone were to create a poll about who will be better on the General board in 3 years OG or Keegan, who would it favor?

Sad we didn't come away with a solid player using Holmes + 24 + more. Monte banking huge on free agency, maybe he knows something we all don't.
Does this deal make sac the most desirable FA destination?
Hornets will use a ton to bring Bridges/Washington back
Rockets have 7-8 guys they are developing and are going to be horrible again.
Pacers have wayy too many rotation guys as it is. They need to spend though, I guess they could use a veteran forward, but does a guy want to sign just to fight to be the starter with walker?
Pistons - could use a real pf for sure. But have a bunch of money tied into Bojan/Bagley. And they have Stewart there also.
Orlando - could use forward depth, but won't be able to offer a starting spot.
Kings are really the only team that is good, has big cap space, and can offer a guaranteed starting spot at forward.
But the names are somewhat underwhelming outside the RFA group.

If Green and Grant are staying, Naz Reid is really the only UFA of note looking at the lists, for me. He’s quality, young with room to grow, and the Timberwolves might be priced out, but is the fit there with Domas? Maybe.
It’s been reported from multiple sources that we may see the Domas extension

I'm thinking it's Cam Johnson or the money is going to Sabonis (+$10m + 140% extension) and Barnes (3/$45m).
Now, someone correct me if this is wrong. And a disclaimer. These numbers are purely rough and are not exact.
Sabonis is due $19,400,000 (does have bonuses etc though).
If you give him a $10m renegotiation bonus that puts it up to $29,400,000 for next season. Extend him using the 140% rule and his 2024-25 salary starts at $41,160,000.
I'm going to state this again. This is his basketball home. He wants to be here. Why not take the money now?
At the end of it, it's essentially a 5/$213m extension.
He will be expiring in the 2027/28 season as a 32yo instead of the 2028/29 season as a 33yo. I just think it's a no-brainer for both parties. Gives Sabonis a great extension and it keeps the Kings somewhat flexible moving forward. Potentially it's a discussion that if we can get a game changer we want to use the space for them, but plan B is doing the extension this off-season.
I'm not one that believes Sabonis is a person that wants to bleed every dollar from his team either. He will want a fair contract and that's it. Sacramento is now his town and family.

Oh I should have mentioned, Barnes' rights would be waived and then signed into cap space. This also leaves around $6m to sign Vezenkov/Lyles.

It's not a perfect fit, but yea, maybe. Reid's size is that of a PF (6'9, 7'3 wingspan) and good lateral quickness

Well sure there are FA considerations.
But
Is there anyone who is all ready on a pricey contract the Kings can seek in a trade now that you guys can think of with all this space?

Re: 2023 Off-season Thread
I've been all in on chasing Naz Reid and Bruce Brown as FA targets. I think if you can grab those two and still bring back Lyles or Vezenkov (ideally both) that is a massive W.
Fox-Davion
Huerter-Monk-Jones
Keegan-Brown-Kessler
Naz-Vezenkov-Slawson
Sabonis-Lyles-Queta
That would be really stretching the dollar and might not be attainable depending on what Naz and Brown sign for, but that's my perfect world offseason plan.

I don't like going after Naz Reid as much anymore. Just listening to the TWolves guys they are talking about Naz can't be relied upon as a rim protector and can only be used sparingly as a small ball 5 and isn't really suited to a starting 4.
I don't think the Kings spend on that. At first glance he is great, and at stages, he has dominated against the Kings, but overall not sure. He has a very high usage (24.9 this past season and over 21 the season prior). He is only going on 24 though so he does have room to grow.
Against the Kings
16/12/3 this past season 16.7mpg - terrible shooting from 3 - 115 ORTG/119 DRTG
13/8/3 in 21-22 - 13.8mpg - shooting .500 from 3 - 137 ORTG/110 DRTG
Overall:
2022-23
11/4.9/1.1 - 18.4mpg - .346 from 3 - 111 ORTG/112 DRTG
2021-22
8/3.9/0.9 - 15.8mpg - .343 from 3 - 111 ORTG/111 DRTG

There's some chatter about the Kings making a run at Draymond, maybe renouncing Barnes to do it.
Ranadive's rep precedes him.

I've kinda felt this way lately as well.
It almost reminds me of Dedmon. I remember that year we were looking for a center to "fit" next to Bagley, and on paper (much like Naz Reid) Dedmon was the perfect fit. At the end the talent just didn't match the fit.

Re: 2023 Off-season Thread
How are we feeling about a day 1 role for Colby as the backup 3 to start? I'm more excited about him than Sasha tbh, he brings defense which this team badly lacks, and another playmaker which is always helpful.
Sabonis/??????
????/?????
Murray/Jones
Huerter/Monk
Fox/Mitchell
35.7 million of cap space.
My ideal use of that money is Hart, PJ Washington, Lyles.
My official guess.. Kuzma, Lyles, Sasha, Dwight Powell

Over how many years? 4/100 million with a 4th year team option sounds close?
Not exactly sure how that would pan out, but realistically more like a 3/70-75 million.
I've been higher on the idea of bringing Draymond in than most Kings fans, but i'd sign up for that immediately. He transforms the defense overnight. Need that kind of toughness next to Sabonis.
