Anyway, good for DeVos's family, as they have this recurrent money every single year.

It was more about getting the future 2nd.

A worst 2nd in 7 years makes lots of sense. It's only about money.

It's unprotected and having 2nds can help in trades.

Yes, it's unprotected, but what are the odds of it being a Top 36 pick? Bucks would need to be a super bad to have a pick in the same range. If it was for a lottery protected 1st round pick I'd be fine.

Just out of curiosity how does cash consideration even work? I’ve never known and have never asked before.

Money direct to Owner's pocket? IIRC, the last time it was around 3M for our 2nd round pick (not this year).

it does nothing. It's just bag of money. There is upper limit team can recive or give to make transactions for players or picks. It doesn't count against salary, but if you take player, his salary does.

Welcome back CASH CONSIDERATIONS! So elusive, yet always coming home. Like that cat we had named whitey as a child. The fact that we also secured a future 2nd is icing on a cake. Who knows what roster needs we will have in 7 years.

Same thread every year...I really don't get how this is superior to putting a prospect in Lakeland/Kissimmee to bake until ready or just fade away?

There were some real interesting guys at 36 or later...what's the risk? Is it really any different than signing undrafted guys- but with more certainty of getting what you want?

Team like Spurs would draft and stash a euro prospect.

This isn't worth getting upset over.

Charlotte picked three times in the second round. If that's important to you, they'll take you in their fanbase. Put another way, it doesn't guarantee success or "the best way to do things."

You don't have to like it but this isn't new. Be a fan and focus on the good or don't and feel less than good. Your choice.

Has any other team been consistently doing this with their second round picks in recent years, does anyone know?

In this case, I don't trade the pick then. I get we may have limited roster spots, but injuries also happen and with Lakeland right there, I don't just give this pick away. It wasn't that long ago that Rupert was a lotto pick and now he could be right there. Jackson is also very talented and keeping him in the G-League for the majority of the season would have worked well for him and us.

So, would you put this player on the 15 man roster or use one of the Two-Way slots on them?

Probably two way. I really appreciate what Admiral and Kevon bring, but their ceilings are limited.

Alright.

Some players will audition for the Two-Way spots in Summer League.

True, but Lakeland is easier to type

That's gonna take some getting used to for me, I hope they change the team nickname from Magic (which is lame to begin with) to something else.
