this will be our worst SL roster in a decade. It's a product of having the parent club stacked and we had similar rosters when we had the Big Three. Hopefully Brad can draft someone worth watching in the 2nd round.

It will be interesting to see if they get Begarin over here on a two-way and Yam to the regular roster without seeing either of them in SL again.

Begarin, I see coming over on a Two-Way. IDK about Yam making the Regular Roster.
Might be time to Trade those Interests?

Well, now the main attractions for our summer league team this year will be....

-Champagnie
-Pick 25

Do we even have enough for Summer League?
We Picked #38, Jordan Walsh. And 4 x Future 2nds.

I don't believe the league would allow them to trade for a 2036 pick yet.

JD is the future "real" PG that the C's seek. Compare his age and G-League stats to those of Scoot, who grew up in a coaching family with a professional gym in a major metropolitan area. IMO they are about even with their jumper and JD is a more advanced and gifted distributor. Give him 20 minutes a game next season and suddenly Rob, if he's still here, will have 2 PGs willing and able to feed him.
Yup. These are their numbers this past season.
To be fair, JD is a year older than Scoot. But still, JD could end up being *really* good.
JD also had just one year of college after playing at this seriously disadvantaged high school of 350 students: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/alabama/districts/lowndes-county/calhoun-high-school-236
Compare that with Scoot, who's been training with Steph's trainers, whose parents have had a professional gym the last 5 years, etc.
You're right, Scoot will be 20 on Feb 3 and JD will be 21 on Oct 3, but given how JD is relatively playing catch-up and has the speed, vision, feel and passing for the game already, I'm just as happy with him as with Scoot, who will probably go #2 or #3 this week.

We'll have JD, Champagnie, Walsh. That's 3.
Possibly Kabengele.
Then fill out the roster with a bunch of random guys.
Maybe you can play?

Part of the fun is the randoms who are never going to see an NBA practice but who we spend weeks getting all wrapped up about.
And also get ready to get hyped about 29yo 6’3” Myche Mulder!

JD better turnout to be a 6th man or we are screwed.
I got very lil hope for walsh those stats are the worse we've ever drafted.
And then I also feel like Celtics don't care about mader and bargirin this is the year to use them the bench is awful with a hurt Brogdon till December? we will be lucky to start out great. If we have to rely on can't will being the scorer off the bench that is bad

I haven't heard any timeline for Brogdon. Have you? And: Grant is most likely gone, but also not a scorer. Last: Walsh was drafted for his defensive potential, not for his stats (except for maybe wingspan and other combine #s).

That's what I keep hearing about walsh is his defense is great but even brad says don't expect much till maybe year or two out. But Brogdon is clearly is hurt couldn't be traded so at the beginning of the season that leaves Pritchard and JD. And hopefully we get something good for can't will.

okay so I take you haven't heard any speculative timeline about Brogdon. My understanding from Brad's 2am press conference was that he's hoping to heal without surgery, and 'they expect him on the court' (not specified: when).
A GM is not usually going to say they expect a 2nd round pick to step right into the rotation -- but imagine your pleasant surprise if, in a year or two, Walsh becomes a significant contributor!
Most analysis says Grant is likely just gone -- Celtics unlikely to be able to take back any real salary for him in a sign and trade.

partial tear in the tendon of his right elbow can take six months to a year to fully heal that's not really debatable. And I hate can't will but we kind of need him now and yes maybe this walsh guy will be in two years but aren't we a win now team I get adding a potential steal at 38 when in fact he was ranked at 46 still not a bother to me personally I'm not expecting any second rounder to be anything so whoever it was was what was it his stats are definitely the worse we ever drafted. I want to win and I was initially excited about the unicorn but I started thinking about it and Tatum said something that stuck with me he and smart will team up again? The coach isn't special at anything we're are trying to develop him so without Marcus where is the accountability coming from. So many questions and we've got to rely on healthy players that don't have a good track record of that. I'm not giving up on this team but I don't like some moves the trades are ok extra ammo ok it's better for the future because we are about to commit alot of money to three players. Lucky to have white imo

Eh, Grant was a combined 29.1% from 3 over 3 years of college. That's if anything worse than Walsh's freshman showing at 27.8%. Grant also famously started 0 for a gazillion from 3 as a C's rookie, but his shot turned out okay. Walsh finished his freshman year shooting much better than he started and the C's had him in for 2 workouts, so they did their due diligence on him.

Grant Williams (can't will) college stats are way better down the line even his freshman year he avg 12 5 and a block and better shooting. And I hate can't will. This dude literally has the worse stats we've ever drafted and because of his defense that's it can't block a shot can't rebound can't score can't pass. Long way to go to be even compared to can't will even.
