Gallo was SF for most of his career, but yeah now, especially post injury, I'll give you that. He's also likely irrelevant since the team will be developing youth more than trying to rehab an injured veteran. If he shows anything good they will try to flip him to someone who needs him. Otherwise playing him significant minutes is probably not what the FO will expect of the coaches.

He did used to be a surprisingly crafty defender, and can tutor other ranged forwards on how to move off the ball, if he can look forward to the next phase of his career maybe he becomes a coach on the bench.

Ehhh. Gallo is 6'9 BAREFOOT with a 7'1 wingspan and 230+ lbs. He is the same size as Bam, Gafford, etc. No way he should be defending 3's.

As it stands, this might turn out to be a pretty entertaining squad.

Not sure they'll stop anybody, but a starting five of Jones, Poole, Avdjia, Gallinari and Gafford could turn out to be an entertaining bunch on any given night.

Throw rotation players like Wright, Morris and Kispert into the mix and the Wizards could be threatening to break 30 wins.

Care to take a stab at the rotation for next year?

Given a 100-game season, 30 wins might well be possible.

I assume we will trade one of Morris/Wright for a bad contract and a future pick - probably Morris.

So our lineup will be:
PG: Jones/Wright
SG: Poole/Shamet
SF: Kispert/Bilal
PF: Avdija/Gallinari
C: Gafford/Muscala

We will see if they manage to find minutes for Davis, Ryan, Baldwin, Cooks, Vukcevic, and Gill, but I doubt they will be part of the regular rotation on Day 1, except perhaps Davis who could conceivably beat out Bilal or Shamet.

I actually like Wright, Gallo and Muscala as veteran mentors who can provide good minutes, but also sit out when appropriate to develop the youngsters.

Looks like it might be an 18-win season.

Our best player (Gafford or Jones, I guess), wouldn’t start on a 2nd round playoff team.

I think Patrick Baldwin Jr crashes that lineup with his shooting ,taking out Gallinari and threatening Avidja's place if he's still shooting bricks .

Watch for Sacramento to be the team chasing Kyle Kuzma. They freed up monies to get a FA and are already talking how Kuz would fit on their team.

Morris + TPE should get us a protected 1st.
Side Note: And looking at the lineup above, Poole makes sense. Jones, Delon, Kispert, Deni, and Gafford are all low usage guys. I you dont have someone willing to take shots it can grind to a hault.

And that's the whole point. To be the worst team in the league. Mission accomplished.

It will be between Barnes and Kuzma. If Barnes wants to be there, Kuzma is out in the cold on that one. And don't forget Lyles...

Man IDK, this team beats out the 17 win Pistons. I say a floor of 25 wins.

Gallinari has never been afraid to take a shot :)

I wonder how many minutes Bilal will get. Giannis in year 1 got 25 mpg on a 15 win team. I do think he'll start off not playing much and they'll open up minutes for him after the trade deadline, when some of these expiring contract guys get jettisoned.

Right now we're one player over the roster limit. I assume Huff and Jackson will be our two-way guys but even without them, we're at 16.

The best way I can see us proceeding is to trade one of Morris/Tyus to a team with cap space in exchange for draft capital, and trade the other one to a contender for bad salary. That way we hit the 90% threshold and get down to 15 players.

Any chance Muscala, Gallo, or Shamat get bought out? In a contract year, I'd assume all of them want playing time in order to audition for their next contract. Gallo might have some value at the trade deadline if he plays well, but I don't think whatever minimal returns we could get for him would be worth giving him 20+ mpg for the first half of the season when those minutes could be going to young guys. Coffee I'd assume will play sparingly.

Locked on Kings Matt George just got through talking about Kuzma as a fit and looking for 30 million and that the Kings cleared cap space getting rid of Richaun Holmes .

I'd say Gallinari is a candidate to trade -- if he still has value.

Rumored, you mean.
But, of course, the rumor may be true -- what was the offer?

Unless Bilal is good immediately or Deni makes a huge leap (like a Markannen level leap), this is a 35 win team that replaced 2 fringe All-Star level guys with 2 replacement level guys. We'll lose 60 games in style though. Lots of 124-107 and 130-111 losses.

1 Rockets: $60.9M
2 Jazz: $47.2M
3 Spurs: $38.6M
4 Kings: $35.6M
5 Pacers: $32.2M
6 Pistons: $30.0M
7 Magic: $23.9M

That's per Keith Smith from Spotrac. Kings make the most sense here. Rockets seemed to be focus on Harden, Brooks, Lopez. Kuzma's not going to Utah or Detroit
