Weren't the Mavs linked to Kmart jr? Wouldnt be splashy but could be a nice little move as well.

No way mavs go for Collin’s. Doesn’t improve defense or rebounding. if there was any chance of Collin’s on the mavs, it expired last night. Might have taken him if they added 15.

At this point, Mavs should be looking at some offense as well. They drafted 3 guys focused on defense and rebounding. Right now, it's Luka, Kyrie, THJ and Hardy on offense, then it's a lot of nothing. THJ is probably gone and Hardy is still raw.
This guy looks promising as eventual DFS replacement.

Apart from the players there were reports of the Mavs upgrading the coachinf staff too. Jeff Van Gundy declined though. Wonder who they'll hire this summer.

Lively has been the guy I've hope for all along but must say I'm a little more excited about the possibilities of OMax.
There is something about the combination of his size, athleticism, attitude, play style and skills that make me think he could become a fan favorite from day 1.

Does OMax's game look similar to a Thad Young out of college?

Im actually more excited for Omax the more i hear about him. Hopefully both guys pan out.
Now get rid of THJ and turn Green into a more useful fitting piece, it will be a wonderful offseason.
ANd of course, dont give Kyrie too many years

Sign Dillon Brooks to the vet minimum to be a disruptor for 5 mins a game. The team is full of high character guys. We need someone with questionable morals and is not afraid of jail time.

Ja Morant is roughly 2.378 gun incidents away from lowering his trade value to Powell + 2nd.

He's got like a 7'2 wingspan and if you watch any pre-draft interviews you'll love him even more.

Too bad Mavs couldn't make a trade for the #20...Whitmore could be the steal od the draft and he would be great as SF on Mavs

Basically, you bring back 2011 supporting cast.
Lively = Chandler
OMP = Marion
Jordan Walker = Barea
Brooks = Stevenson
McGee = Hayward
Hardaway = Butler
There's no Dirk nor Jet, but you fill the roster with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Hardy, Maxi, Holmes.

Remember that our "spectator",I mean coach(my bad), said that he lets the players figure it out for themselves...how exactly is that gonna work with all the young guys on the team...Young players(prospects) need coaching and I have serious doubts Kidd is the right coach for the team...let's not forget he burried Hardy(even Green to some extent) on the bench untill the Mavs traded their depth and people started yelling for more playing time for them

Kidd has been **** amazing for our young players are you crazy? It’s been one of the bright spots of his coaching stint considering that Nelson was the worst drafter in the NBA for a decade and Carlisle was the worst development coach in the NBA for a decade. They were awful. Carlisle was so bad he almost **** up Jalen Brunson as well. And his treatment of Brunson is a big reason why Jalen left.
Contrast that with Kidd. In 1 year with Kidd, Brunson went from completely unplayable in the playoffs and a backup to a starter and a borderline All Star. If Kidd would’ve been here a year earlier we would’ve seen those improvements early enough to resign him.
The 1st year with Carlisle Josh Green looked like a complete bust. A bust that was so bad Daoneandonly still make it his personal mission to try to get rid of him every chance he gets. The next season with Carlisle through sheer patience and encouragement Josh went from complete bust to fringe rotation player. And then in year 2 with Kidd Josh went from fringe rotation to a borderline starter.
Hardy was so **** bad and inefficient in the G-League 2 years ago that he went all the way from the 2nd ranked prospect all the way to the 37th in the draft. Kidd folded him in slowly, letting him practice against NBA talent with structure and what do you know Hardy all of a sudden looks efficient and is the steal of the 2nd round from last year.
I get everyone is mad at Kidd for the “I can’t play I can only watch comments” but I hate to break it to all of you. He was **** right. Dallas couldn’t defend a traffic cone after the Kyrie trade. Im not saying I’m mad at the Kyrie trade because it was such a major talent upgrade. But it did mean they had to punt the 2nd half of the season until they could restock on defenders.
Kidd 2 years ago was a strong contender for coach of the year. Last year he looked like a terrible coach. I refuse to believe he is either. He is somewhere in the middle. If he coaches like **** this year it’s time for a replacement. But in his first season he coached this team to a top 10 defense and the WCF so I think 1 more year is fine.

After the team changes coach,with whom the players were unhappy, that team outperformes a lot of the times...Mavs getting to the WCF was amazing but let's not pretend that team had any bussines getting there...they caught fire,outperformed,it was a great run...bit the mistake was made later by the FO thinking that Just cause they got to the WCF they're now a contender and don't need to make any roster changes, especialy after JB left...remember when Cuban said they still had Frank,Just because he played ok against the suns
JB wasn't good the first year in the playoffs,but the Clippers had big defenders who bothered him...he couldn't bully them...he was good against smaller players
Kidd gave the team confidence,he motivated them...but setting up plays,X's and O's aren't his Strong side,which was quite evident with all the late plays in this disaster of the last season....how many close games did the Mavs lose cause they didn't know what to do,make a Play...every last possesion was a stepback three...it was the same in his first season,it Just happens that in his first season Dinwiddie and Luka made some late stepback threes
We'll see how he does this season

DFS 14M
Maxi 11M
This is the NBA...
IMO, they are both overpaid now.

Would not surprise me if Nico pulls off a THJ for John Collins swap. ATL moves out of the Collins salary next year since THJ is expiring. Mavs get a starting PF over Kleber.
Would be awful. Finally got out of bertans contract just to take on a worse one, and also trading away our only real shooter that also would need to be replaced. Need an up 1st for every year left on his contract to take on hid 26m/year with bad shooting and bad defense. Im actually noy sure collins is good at anything but being "athletic", however that helps. And i and many of u said it whrn he got that contract that they would regret it
Same. I have my doubts with John Collins. But if it's the same as THJ, I'd rather have Hardy take THJ's shots off the bench and have Cuban spend on Collins because that money is gone anyway. With 15 shot attempts Collins gets you 20 and 10 IMO. And he's like 6'9 which gives you more size. You lose some on the financial end but like I said, that money is spent anyway. Let Cuban foot the bill.
If the market on Collins is really weak, I will step in and purpose offer of Maxi + McGee + Bullock. ATL save current money by waiving Bullock, and also save future money by dumping Collin's contract. DAL solve the dilemma of Bullock's contract, consolidate for talent upgrade, and get younger.

Carlisle was the biggest reason they drafted Brunson. He and Jalen's father have a relationship, so if anything he treated JB better than others

I knew Jalen was going to leave when he told a story on a podcast about his 2nd season where he played great for multiple games in a row and was finally filling good about himself until he got randomly bench by Carlisle for weeks and he said he had no idea why. Even with Carlisle gone I knew the way he talked I could tell left a bad taste in his mouth.
