He was clearly overrated by the Hawks GM last summer...

He looked pretty great on the Spurs but that was a tanking team going nowhere but now in Atlanta he looks worse but it may simply be a bad fit with Trae. What kind of team would you guys see Dejounte excelling in?

There's also some notions of character issues with his antics last summer but nothing egregious.

People in here like to throw the word "tanking" loosely.
No. We weren't tanking, we/are were young, rebuilding, tinkering with rosters, injuries, and stunk.

As for Murray. He's a solid player. More of a tweener, position wise. Not superstar level, but sufficient, possibly low All Star level someday. Streaky on offense. I like him better as a defender.
"Just right".

He looks like he could be the perfect point guard but he's missing something. Kind of like Zach Lavine as a shooting guard. Loads of talent but just not that committed to doing what it takes to win.
Hopefully that changes for both of them.

He's a good defender just not a physical defender. 6-5 180 he'll need physical guys around to compliment his game.

we've never seen Dejounte get the chance to be the #1 guy on a good team. He proved he could put up numbers as the #1 on a bad team with the Spurs. Then he went to the Hawks who had Trae. To really rate him effectively we'd need to see him go to someplace that lets him run the show. I personally think he's underrated, at least going by the casuals on realgm

This. I honestly have no idea how people rate Murray after this Atlanta season.

He'd be a problem if he becomes consistent from 3, but we all know he won't.

No one talks about this man so he’s underrated.

I can't speak too much on Murray with the Hawks, but if he's like he was as a Spur, no he's not a good defender. He was a guy who makes highlight defensive plays without actually stopping anybody. The media made the mistake of crediting DJM for the Spurs' defense in 2017-2018, and that basically ruined him on that end for the rest of his Spurs career. The reality is that he needed to be hidden or at least protected on defense -- the team needed to have guys solid enough to allow Murray to gamble. That 2018 squad had LMA play his best defense of his career, Danny Green in his prime and Kyle Anderson. Those guys where huge parts of why the defense worked that year, and Murray was the main beneficiary.

If the question is how good Murray is, it's actually pretty good. I am not sure if he's top 50 or top 70, but he's one of the better guys in the league. But if the question is how important is he to have on your team, his attitude and refusal to take a step back hurt him there. As tempting as it might be to some to imagine the Spurs getting Wemby while somehow having kept DeJounte, to me that sounds horrible. He'd be trying to pull rank, sending out passive-aggressive IG messages, sulking if Pop tried to pull rank, trying to "get his" on the court. If DeJounte ever "gets over himself", I'd love to have him on a team. But I think he'll probably have that Stephen Jackson chip on his shoulder forever, and Jack was a rare player who out-performed expectations constantly while also constantly under-performing his talent due to his attitude.

Horrible fit in ATL, but he could be an amazing player for other teams. If he was in Chicago he'd be an all-star yearly as a playmaker and defensive stud next to Lavine and DDR.

Between him and D White of ex Spurs, I would choose White 10 times out of 10

He was properly rated at his peak. He is underrated now. Not a great fit with Trae
