I'm keeping my eye on Scoot compared to Black. Both are in similar positions. Scoot may not start in Portland.

A lot of posters wanted to trade for Scoot and even give them Franz.

Yep - and Cole! (Though I’d be open to moving him or expect him to leave in FA). My draft and roster build would’ve made your head explode.

Paolo/(Isaac)/Bol
Franz/Black
Suggs/Wallace
Fultz/Cole

Either Black or Wallace prove too good to remain behind Fultz/Suggs or they don’t. Either way, I’ve got the best backcourt defense in the league and I think that helps set a competitive tone for the team.

Happy with the draft but if I wanted to make a change I suppose it would be for two guys who can shoot.

I like the accountability. I think Black was the best prospect available at 6. How he fits with our roster and the questions looming about that remain to be seen. I really hope he gets the bulk of his minutes at PG.

I would’ve taken Bufkin at 11.

Let me say that more than anything I am just happy with the outcome of the draft because the mere fact that we took a pg indicates that the team does not believe in Suggs, and watching Suggs play basketball drives me insane.

Given the fact that shooting is the biggest need on the roster, and yet we used the 6th pick on a point guard with a shaky jumpshot gives me pause. I still like Black alot and I think he can improve his J but it does feel like a 'doh' moment.

We could have taken Hawkins or George or Gradey at 11 but Hawkins, George and Buffkin don't have positional size and Gradey has questions about his footspeed on defense. I'm fine with Jett.

We won't know for sure until they play the games.

I actually like who we ended up with but if I were the GM and the draft played out the way it did. I would have went with a huge swing on potential with Bilal Coulibaly at #6 and at #11 I would have taken Jordan Hawkins.

I'm happy with Black, with Wittmore falling and the twins gone, he was likely best talent available and he will help the team a lot defensively. Wish he could shoot, but maybe he'll get better since he's working with Steph's trainer.

At 11 I was all for Grady D. Would have also been happy with Hawkins. I'm okay with Jett though. He can shoot, good size, supposedly was injured. Might end up being a steal.

I definitely would have went with Whitmore and Gradey Dick once Whitmore fell. I loathe the Anthony Black pick. I see a lesser version of Elfrid Payton. I watched Arkansas a bit this year and all I saw was an offensive liability.

Now, I would have chosen Gradey Dick but I’m not entirely upset with Jett Howard. He’s got great size for a 2 and a saavy scoring ability. I wouldn’t start him right away at the 2, but I can see him maybe getting there.
