Am I wrong or does his touch around the rim look worlds apart from FVV?

How do you hide him on defense? Zone?

He might be even worse in zone since it'll be harder for him to rotate out in some cases. I have no clue how you hide a 5'8" guy on D unless the other team has an obvious guy like Thybulle, or some non-athletic perimeter shooter or something.

Depends on the opponent and the type of zone.

Obviously a liability in a switching zone
Probably a liability playing up top in a typical 2-3 zone
Likely can he be hidden in the corner sometimes (as FVV is)
Might be a fantastic fit as the "1" chasing a scorer like Curry in a box-and-1
In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

What are you basing that on?

The guy is a career sub 40% shooter in 5 years of college. I'm not expecting much offensively from this guy In the nba especially considering he's only 5'8. Fvvs college numbers were much better.

Good news is his greatest skill is his passing so I don't see him trying to become allen Iverson at the next level.

5’8 ? good god. He’s already plateaued as a bench player by default.

He will really help organize the 905 which has value. Beyond that we'll see. Pretty unlikely.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

What numbers are you comparing? Because those are definitely not fvvs career college numbers.

So explosive, he blew by top defenders like Cason Wallace. He's going to be a problem or he's going to get snuffed. Either or.

If he can find the passing lanes when driving to the hoop he can find minutes. He’ll be hunted on defense though

he's able to do this with less spacing in college, i wouldn't be shocked if he could get it done when called up. you can tell the kid knows how to play and maximize the ability he has. maybe in a few years we are gonna look back and say it was a no brainer considering how well he played in college.

He should aim to be as good or better than JJ Barea, Mugsy B, IT etc that would be amazing either way

5 feet 6.75 inches barefoot, with a wingspan slightly above 6 foot. I love the guy's confidence, but given his lack of height and wingspan, Nowell would be a defensive liability on a nightly basis. Do not really see the need for this signing.

I think what this shows is that he'll probably never be an efficient scorer in the league. His size will forever be a limiting factor for him, much like it is with fvv...

He definitely needs to work on other aspects of his game to carve a niche in the league. The good news is that he can break the defense down and pass the ball and that's something we're lacking. He also averaged more steals per game in college than fvv did, so that may translate...
