Kispert questioned the front office and he was right. With said front office being gone, I can imagine thennewnfrontnoffciensees.himnas a smart young player.

I target the 2025-2026 season to be the 1st season where we actually make substantial improvement over the prior season. And by substantial improvement, I mean improving from 16+18 wins to maybe 22+24 wins. I don’t see us vying for the play in tournament until the following season.

Assuming that every rebuild starts with a tear-down, I'd say ours started with the Beal trade.
But, so what... you are right in the more important sense: with the exception of our draft, we haven't yet added a single player who is part of a rebuilding plan.

Your responses and the Consiglieri's are all fair. In the end, I'm also not optimistic about 2025-26, but a little more than you all are.

To make the team really ridiculous, we could deal Wright, Kispert, and Gallinari to Portland for Simons. Then, if we can deal Jones for value, we could start Poole and Simons with Morris backing up and see if either develops into a legit PG and or improves their defense. That would leave Avdija and Shamet plus our Eurorookie and Gill as an even worse forward rotation than last year unless some of the value coming back for Jones is a young forward.

Where did Kispert criticize the FO? Does someone have a link?

I don't have a link but it was his exit video I think. I remember watching it I believe.

He criticized the old front office. Now that we have a new front office, I don’t see why he would be inclined to want to leave. I think he might be pretty excited about having a more featured role in the offense.

Yeah that's what I was referring to and I agree I can't see there bing any friction offer comments made about people who are fired .

Here's the exit interview (wch I've also posted in Kispert's thread):

It's really terrific, but I don't hear any specific criticism of the F.O. -- though he is objective, analytical, & altogether right on in his observations about everything: himself, teammates, coaching, you name it.

I was tempted to start a special BOYD trade thread but I wasn’t sure it was distinct enough from the official trade thread.

In any event, should we start tossing out ideas for BOYD trades?

Are we in the BOYD market this year or waiting to have even more room with more desperate teams next year?

I like the idea of a Bring Out Your Dead thread. At least to identify the various junk contracts we might be hunting on teams that are nearly capped but have draft picks or young assets buried behind established players.

I mean Atlanta got a measly 2nd for giving Collins away. I don't really see teams giving up 1sts for their horrible contracts. Heck, OKC took on Bertans to move up 2 slots. Probably the worst contract in the NBA is Ben Simmons. Maybe the Nets give up a future 1st for some team taking him on? Could see SAS doing that.

Agreed. Atlanta and Dallas dumped bad money for dirt cheap, while the Kings paid a lot. But it Doesn’t look great for us.

Dumping money at the deadline will be a primium going forward because the new rules dictate that you must be ,90% of the cap day one. So you can't horse money. So Tapes will be super valuable.

So some trades id like to see.

Bulls

Morris and wright
For
Lonzo ball and the 2024 protected Portland pick they have.

This gets them off of that long term Lonzo money and he can just sit on our bench. We have the space and the money and we get a pick.

NYK

Gill and Cooks.
For
Evan and our first back and that fake super protected det pick.

This gets NY a ton of flexibility. This allows them to use the full mid level, the mini mid level and work and extension with hart. Huge value for them getting rid of Evan so they can go full bore.

Det

Shammet
For
Bagley.
I'll take a flyer on Bagley to get rid of shamett

That works ld give us
Jones/Rollins/lonzo
Poole/Davis/Evan
Bilal/kispert/gallo
Deni/Bagley/ Baldwin.
Gafford/Vuk/muscala

find some decent 2 way guys may e huff and Jackson again but you move on. A little thin at PG but you might be able to work something out there.

Gonna need more than the Portland pick to take Lonzo ball. Plus we are giving them Morris and Wright. Two players that have value. Tbh, Morris and Wright are probably going to go to a contender.

Makes sense. Both would help any team. Looks like Tyus is in our plans.
