That's insane, lol. Almost too long, but super impressive.

Kinda cracked me up that half the song titles are such QOTSA puns.

It's been growing on me. My first few listens I felt a little disoriented. Apparently it's self-produced which is why it sounds a little colder to me than what I expected. Also this is Homme's first sober album. He apparently went through some **** the past 5 years, and I think this is him exorcising some demons. Stuff he just had to get out one way or another.
Here's an interview Homme did with Neil Brennan of all people that provided me with some needed context to the album. I have no idea how this came to be, but you won't see Homme open up like this anything often.

Season 2 of The Bear is a masterpiece. Must watch.
And if you're cool with subtitles check out Drops of God on Apple. It's terrific and totally under the radar. One of those shows that didn't really seem like my thing on paper but it's so high quality you can't help but get into it. Surprisingly thrilling.

Most of it was instant for me - funny we flipped from the single. That took me a while to come around, but of course I did. It must have just had me prepped for the sound. Cuz the production was my first thing I noticed on the single. Made to Parade/Carnavoyeur/Sicily are definitely a little more sprawly. Can't remember which right now, but one of those reminded me of that Daffodils song from Vultures. I think that was JPJ that wrote that one, though, iirc.
Will have to watch that vid. Brennan's great. He's one of the few standup guys that can talk about his problems forever but still keep it funny enough for me to continue watching.

Haha it is funny yeah. I was a little disappointed until I learned it was self-produced. Then I saw that recent interview. After that the production + subject matter made total sense and I was able to really fall into the album. Neighbors prob tired of hearing Negative Space, Emotion Sickness and Straightjacket Fitting.
You bring up another group I'd like a new album from in TCV. I think a few of their songs would fit in on QotSA album just fine.
I have no idea how the interview came to be or if it's even a good idea at all, but Homme is in the mood to talk like I've never seen before. It's long though. Took me 3 sittings.

Negative Space is the one that sucked me in instantly - it reminded me of Rated R. Time & Place too. Really, the first 4 tracks and I was hooked. Vultures is one of the top shows I've seen. Barely got tix - we were in the literal last row in the theatre they played - but it was great. It also completed my "other than Bonham" zep member live shows.

Negative Space is the first one I came around on after Emotion Sickness. Throwing Obscenery in the queue too.
Never had the opportunity to see them live. I've only heard it is legend.

Kind of stopped listening to them when I got sober some years ago. It's only been the first two albums and not very often.
This show used to be on all the time.

I take it the Dame situation is holding up a lot of next moves--including, potentially, something with Brogdon.
