I think Portland would try to lean further into rebuilding if dealing Dame, not bring in a worse, but slightly younger win-now player.

Ya that could be true. Siakam is 4 years younger and a different type of player that may fit their future guard plans better though.

Still hot on the trot for OG and Siakam and now back to leaking they want them after trashing them heading into the draft.

If Scott and Sharpe are off the table then what is there to even talk about?

where did they 'trash' them heading into the draft???

The reality is Portland and Toronto were never going to be good trading partners.......

The assets Portland had that they would have considered trading in such a deal(#23, simons) weren't good enough for Toronto to be interested in likely. And that's ok.......

I think if portland had had a little higher pick than #23(like a very late lotto pick), then something for at least one of those guys could have maybe been worked out.

But toronto is right not to be interested imo. I'd rather just roll the dice with OG and pascal going into the season and see what happens than take #23 and Simons.

Yeah, if I'm Portland I want Barnes and picks as the start of any Dame deal. If the Raptors were making this kind of deal they'd be better to keep Pascal as well since it is a 100% win-now move.

The Dame situation feels a lot like Beal with the Wizards. Not quite the same since it seems like Beal just stayed on a bad team for the money whereas Dame has had some decent teams. The recent Beal trade may have been a wakeup call for Lillard that he should change his situation sooner rather than later.

Lol how? Are they moving Sharpe, Simons and Nurk?
Cronin can say whatever he wants to. POR stance is the same. Lillard’s stance is what matters.

This isn’t new news. Dame will let FA play out to see how the team improves the roster then decide. Personally I think it’s all posturing by Lillard and Portland as Portland is clearly rebuilding and won’t be a contender for a few more years, at minimum.

If Dame does leave, it’ll be to the Heat.

Not going to be much they can do tbh.

They'd be smart to re-up Grant and probably should look to keep Thybulle but even with that, they're just more of the same.

I thin they can still build a contender around Dame but they need to be willing to do a large shake up AND move Simons,

Where's is JROY to celebrate? Dudes vindicated Blazers were never trading a top pick for Siakam or OG.

Portland should keep Scoot. He will help right away off the bench at a discounted price for the next 4 yrs.

That doesnt mean we still cant get a Simons, Sharpe, Little, #23 for Pascal which helps boths teams.

POR will keep Sharpe.
