Lol be honest how many of you did Sam Amick get this time? There were people in the other thread swearing up and down that this was going to be it but guess what, Amick proved to just be throwing **** on the wall yet again to see what sticks. Surprise surprise.

I'm guessing that they will shop Simons and see if they can get some big man help and move forward with Dame/Scoot/Sharpe/Grant/Nurkic + whatever they can get for Simons to help in the frontcourt.

ill give numerous examples of things 19 year olds dont understand.
How to use their hands off ball on the offensive player without getting called
drawing bs fouls
screen navigation.
NBA verbiage
player tendencies.
how to get adequate sleep while travelling
using your hands on offense against the defense.
NBA spacing

Henderson might be at least almost as good as dame in a few years..... but hes going to fall prey to every single thing i just listed. Cant win with those, even if your goal isnt the titlee

That would be a terrible idea.

They just need to trade Dame… start building around Simmons, Scoot & Sharpe as their young 3-some on the perimeter. Then somehow do whatever it takes to get rid of useless Nurkic and is awful contract and ship Reddish, Thybulle off to somewhere that’s not Portland. Lose a lot of games and play for Buzelis, Mara, Holland

If the Blazers can somehow nab Draymond for $25 per from the Warriors and sign Grant to a reasonable deal $20-$25 mil per/yr they may actually have a shot at contention. I believe they have enough capspace but someone correct me if I’m off.

They can then trade Simons, Nurkic #3 for Paul George or Kawhi + Zubac. They can test Sharpe and Nasir’s trade value on the market for another starting caliber player too or just keep them for depth. Use their TPMLE on Divincenzo (I believe they will still have this exception but again correct me if I’m wrong).

Lillard/Beverley (vet min)
Divincenzo/Sharpe/Keon Johnson
Paul George/Little/Rupert
Jerami Grant/Kris Murray
Draymond/Zubac

Is this possible? Or at least a tweaked version of this?

GM is scared to death of the fans reaction if they trade Dame

The only players I want to move Scoot or Sharpe for is a top tier all-star talent. The notion that the Blazers should throw those guys away for some pretty good players is ridiculous.

Even Dame is not asking for that notice his dream scenario was signing Green in free agency and making sure Jerami is in a Blazer jersey, which we could try to do if we find some ways to cut salary. Do you see Dame saying that he is livid that we didn't trade Scoot or Sharpe? Because I sure as **** didn't see that!

**** in a few years if Sharpe and Scoot continue to develop this team could be pretty damn good even with Dame starting to get up there in age.

This is complete garbage. The Blazers have such a great core of young talent with Simons, Sharpe, and Scoot. Let these guys play and trade Dame. Pick a side already you can't have the vets and the young guys. Freakin annoying.

Groundhog Day with Dame every year. Everyone waits to see if the cryptic messages will result in trade request and every year he comes out and says he's staying. Rinse and repeat

They don't have a cap to sign Green even if they waive everybody
Lillard + Simons + Nurkic + Sharp + Little + Henderson + Murray + Johnson will be 115 mils, with 2023-2024 cap being 136 mils.
So, that will leave about 21 mils with just 8 players. Even if they decide to waive everybody including Grant, that might not even be enough to sign Green. Then, if they want to resign Grant, they will be over the cap.

I like Dame and he is a really good player, but not a Jokic/younger LeBron type where you can stick him with nearly anyone and have a solid team. The Blazers haven't finished better than 3rd in their division in the past 4 years, and that was only once. Even if they could get the unlikely names being mentioned (e.g. Bam) they wouldn't be top tier contenders. Lillard is going to be 33 soon. I don't see him able to anchor a contending team unless it's really well and specifically built and portland likely can't do that before he is well into his decline.

We could see a sign and trade that could work out, remember you don't need to have the entire amount in cap space available with a trade. You can have a portion of that necessary cap space and then that qualifies as the requirement of cap space needed.
