Problem is next two drafts are supposed to be really bad, so GM's might figure they need to take shots at the dartboard this cycle.

If the Magic or Raptors don't take Keyonte George I think he's going to slide outside of the lottery to 16.

If Gradey Dick isn't drafted by the Jazz or Mavericks he could also slide outside of the lottery.

I think it was a combination of factors. Once his private workouts started I heard some scepticism from Portland sources about his game and mind-set. There's a very thin line between being a dawg and a dog. Regardless, I hope Whitmore uses this as a catalyst to work on his connective team skills.

The Whitmore thing seems to be

1. Two serious leg injuries
2. REALLY hated by his coaching staff (I think this is why Leonard Miller dropped so far as well?)
3. Probably bad interviews/workouts
4. Just general concerns about how his game would translate to the NBA when he stopped being hugely stronger than other players.

Guessing the NBA takes the opinions of your coaches very seriously and it was clear that Villanova and Ignite hated Whitmore and Miller.

I had a guy from a team text me 4 red flags and he said "that's probably not enough flags" lol

You know what's funny about Leonard Miller is that Vecenie kept talking about how much the coaches love him and how coachable he is. Hmm...

Yeah I don't know, Whitmore and Miller were the only guys who were constantly screamed at during games by their coaching staff this year.

I think teams made a big mistake passing on Miller, but we'll see.

Tough landing spot for Miller tbh. He's got KAT, Gobert, Naz, and Jalen all ahead of him in the big rotation.

Seems like you had quite a lot of misses this year…just curious if you need to retool your evaluation process?

Sorry how do you define a miss before an NBA career is even started? None of these guys have played yet. Did you just get back from 2033?

If you're guessing then you don't know that what he said weren't the reasons Cam dropped.

Unfortunately, he did not slide for those reasons.

lol, Whitmore's coach hated him SO MUCH that he was willing to badmouth Whitmore to NBA scouts during the pre-draft process.

why should kyle neptune be fired? for being honest? for not misleading and deceiving NBA teams?

maybe whitmore should have had better attitude and personality if he wants to make more money.

Neptune's job isn't to be honest to NBA teams. His job is to win games at the NCAA level and recruiting plays a huge role in that. If players know that there's a chance that Neptune can hurt their draft stock by bad-mouthing them to teams then it gives them a reason to pick another offer. It's not a given, obviously, but having something like this hang over his head can really hurt his recruiting efforts and that's a big part of being an NCAA coach.
