Remember he made fun of guys like KD, Lebron etc leaving their teams to form superteams?

I am convinced that is the reason he won't ask for a trade, as opposed to him just being loyal and staying. I think he wants the Blazers to unequivocally make the decision to trade him.

The follow up today seems to reiterate the conditionality of the commitment. The Blazers will try to get him pieces and if they do he'll want to stay. But they may not be able to.

It's a pretty reasonable stance though they may lose some opportunity by not striking now.

So much noise for the overrated undersized guard.

Out of the top 10 rookies in terms of minutes, here's how many had a positive net rating
2022 - 1 (Keegan Murray)
2021- 3 (Scottie, Mobley, Herb Jones)
2020- 2 (Prichard, Bane)
2019- 3 (Terrance Davis, Grant Williams, Thybulle)
2018 - 1 (Shamet); even Luka was a negative
2017 - 4 (Ben Simmons, Tatum, Mitchell, OG)
2016 - 2 (Jamal Murray, Sabonis)

Most of these players are catch and shoot players or bigs that just roll.

Expecting Scoot (or even Sharpe) to contribute to winning for the next couple seasons is pretty farfetched.

Without a Dame trade I have a feeling it’s gonna be a uneventful summer

Bad FA class and probably just some small trades of average role players

Simons is not a bad guy to have, I'm not sure why so many are down on him. If it's the pairing with Lillard I think you could argue Scoot and Lillard are also not the best pair either.

For some reason on RealGM people seem to think that Simons is trash, and he just had a horrible season.

It's not that I'm down on him, it's just that they have a log jam at guard right now. Lilliard, Sharpe, Scoot all need playing time. They can use Simons contract for a starting 4, and Simons should have value because he's a good player.

I think at this point Dame is just chill sailing off into the sunset not having ever made a serious championship run in his career. There's no way he legitimately believes signing a washed up Draymond would make them a contender.

lol yall want dame to sacrifice his numbers without a guarenetee of championship. If the heat acquire dame and dont go back to the finals, the media is gonna blame lillard not jimmy or bam. I dont think dame wants that, dame would rather the blazers build around him and not be a whipping boy in the media. See harden and kyrie( when they changed teams). The team that drafted you has a strong fanbase and will go to bat for you when you have bad games, notice aint too many harden fans in philly and brooklyn like he had in houston. Miami will always be jimmys town, and when the team loses the media will blame dame, we saw this with bosh on the healtes

Yuuuup.

Dame hasn't said anything. His camp hasn't said anything. He isn't the one creating drama here, it is entirely media speculation but he gets all the blame.

People are so funny, not in a good way.

Yeah this has been insane to read the responses. Lillard message has been the same for years: he wants to stay in Portland and he wants them to be competitive (even if he doesn't have a real shot at the title). He's been very consistent in his message.

People act like every unsubstantiated rumor is gospel and coming directly from Dame. When's the last time we've actually had a quote directly from him or his camp?
