I wouldn't be surprised. It's the worst kept secret in the league that given the chance, Donovan Mitchell would dart to the Knicks. If he requests a trade to specifically the Knicks, we have all the leverage... right? RIGHT!?

RJ, Obi, IQ, and a protected 1st for Spida and scraps. Or 3-way with CLE getting Lavine and our package going to the Bulls.

You think RJ is a staple in being included? I do whatever it takes to keep him and add Mitchell to Brunson/RJ/Randle. Hell I look at trading Randle before RJ for him.

He wants NY and NY wants him. Just a matter of when and what it takes. I think they’ll absolutely want RJ to be included in any deal. And IQ most probably.

Him and Brunson would be the 2nd greatest backcourt in nba history besides steph & Klay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donovan has 2 more seasons as a Cavs player. Then, he can opt-out and become UFA.

I would rather get Paul George, who is a 2 way wing and can actually help the team tremendously, than another small guard who is not a great defender. I honestly just don’t see the fit.

Paul George is always injured but when healthy, however rare, he brings more to the table than Donovan Mitchell.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Randle does everything better than RJ and if they are going to trade for Mitchell again it would be to win now.

the only thing with that is the Cavs will have significantly less leverage in a trade...if Mitchell is on his last year of his deal and everyone knows he doesn't want to be there long term.

So there is that.

Paul George is 33, coming off significant knee issue and has averaged only 47 games a season the last 4 years. IMO he's lost a few steps already. The fit might be better but the age, injury and slow down isn't something that the Knicks should be getting themselves into. And then there's the player option he has after this upcoming season that allows him to be a UFA that could make things extremely complicated and uncomfortable (especially if the Knicks have to trade significant assets to get him). Now if the Clippers are willing to take less then sure. But my guess is that they are going to be looking for something significant. It's the same thing with me having mentioned about getting a guy like Derozan. The notion is that the asking price would be low (relatively speaking) due to age and contract expiration.

Randle has shown no ability to thrive in a lesser role because he doesn't do the little things well enough to be a 3rd option type guy.

if there plan is to go guard heavy with there offense...having Randle on the team would be a disaster...not good enough floor spacer (on lower volume), no defensive intensity, not a guy that likes to defer.

Neither has RJ an Randle is still the better and more productive player across the board.

RJ has shown he is a way more productive player in the playoffs...which is what actually matters.
