Also 2nd apron is already scaring teams, which means that cap space, expiring contracts again have value. FOs are looking forwards to new NBA TV deal, but I am not sure if it really helps

I posted on this on the Trade Board. It’s hard to use Collins as a test case on what max deals are worth, because nobody wanted the guy BEFORE the new CBA either.

Keep in mind the 2nd apron should scare a couple teams (not PHX, apparently), but the vast majority of teams will have a better opportunity to exceed the lux, since the costs to do so were decreased. I’m not sure how this is going to end up for max deals.

ATL IN: Towns, Kleber, Hardaway Jr, Moore
ATL OUT: Bogdanovic, Hunter, Capella

Why for ATL: soft rebuild

Towns/Okongwu
Kleber/Bey/Johnson
Griffin/Johnson/Moore
Murray/Hardaway
Young/Murray

DAL IN: Capella, TP
DAL OUT: Kleber, Hardaway Jr

Why for DAL: get starting big

Capella/McGee/Lively
Doncic/Prosper
Bullock/Green
Green/Hardy
Irving/???

MIN IN: Bogdanovic, Hunter
MIN OUT: Towns, TP, Moore

Why for MIN: get depth, get shooters, Bogdanovic as backup ballhandler.

Gobert/Reid/Anderson
Anderson/Hunter/Miller
MCD/Hunter/Minott
Edwards/NAW/Bogdanovic + Clarke
Conley/Bogdanovic/JMac

Make smooth transition to Ant+MCD core. After 2023-24 season:

Gobert/Reid/???
Hunter/Miller/Minott
MCD/Minott
Edwards/Bogdanovic/Clarke
NAW/Bogdanovic/???

I really don't understand the excitement about trading Karl-Anthony Towns for absolute garbage.

We have one last chance to justify whole experiment. Let me explain what it means:

1) they will play from 25 Aug till 10 Sep. He wont be able to recover

2) Gobert will play two weeks in different time zone. Diffecrence between MIN and Jakarta is 12 (!!!) hours

3) climate in Jakarta is not mild and pleasant, especially when you are 30yo, 7'1 bigman

I totally disagree. Rudy got 3 months off before world cup start, plenty of time to work and rest. Then after the world cup, he will still have plenty of time to rest ( 3 weeks) and be ready. Playing high level competition is a good way to improve, much more than work out. Ant will play for USA, and the risk injury is same. Rudy is only 30 and is a guy who really care about beeing fit. i do not have any worries about impact. Rudy will be 100% when season start.

And if he overcompensates for his back injury and has a catastrophic injury playing in FIBA, he won't be playing for the Wolves next season and wont be playing for your French team in the 2024 Summer Olympics either.

And if Ant is injures at the World Cup, We are fu... up. Rudy back is totally fine now. With many ''If'' a lot can happen. IT's always better to limit the risk but playing for his country does matter. I'm glad Ant does it as Rudy.

Totally agree. For me, if And, MAC D continue to improve and Rudy back to hix jazz level, we are really good and can go far in PO. Trading KAT make no sense if we don't get high return.

He’s a classic ‘he’s worth more to us than to you’ guy in that he is a fan favorite and was a critical piece for us last year, so I get it. But he’s on an expiring deal and he may be a luxury the team can’t afford to bring back after next season with Naz now back in the fold. I also think his pairing with Towns playing the 4 (and SLO Mo moving down to the 3) is clunky, so it will be hard for him to repeat his success so long as Towns and Gobert stay healthy. I would think he has more value around the league than Prince so he could be net something more exciting in return. Not endorsing this approach but thinking it through, I could see him traded.

With our current limited situation at PG, I don’t think moving Kyle should be entertained unless a solution is found.

Hopefully, Rudy Gobert stays healthy. If not, it would be a real bummer. Would be better if it wasn’t in miserably humid Jakarta, but oh well.

Ever been to Vegas in July? Or the typical July 4th weekend in Minneapolis?

For those that really worry about Ant and Gobert's health, they do have air conditioning in the stadium. It's also winter there in July, August. https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/jakarta-indonesia-arena

Are the Cavs giving up on their twin tower experiment? Possibly moving Mitchell after a year?

Vegas and even Phoenix don’t come remotely close to the humidity of Jakarta. It’s like the worst version of Miami.

Vegas you are roasted to dead. Like walking into an oven. Jakarta you are cooked in steamer. But you can also consider it a 24 by 7 free sauna. Anyway it's winter there now and the 'dry' months.

Being a lifelong Las Vegan, Miami in July is worse than here. Vegas just has dry heat. Dallas and Houston must be dreadful right now.

Yea I don’t understand how anyone can compare humid heat to dry heat. It isn’t comparable on comfort level. Walked a mile in 105 degree heat last night and was only sweating a little bit. Meanwhile I would change multiple times a day not being active with midwestern humidity let alone tropical humidity.

Correct. As someone that was in MN for nearly 30 years and has been in Las Vegas for 10 years, I would actually take Las Vegas summer over MN. The humidity in MN makes shade pretty much worthless (whereas in Vegas the shade is like 15 degrees cooler), plus there is AC pretty much everywhere and if you're not a rube coming to the strip on vacation (drinking too much and being in the sun more than you should) it's pretty easy to manage. I'll take days being super hot (but dry) for 3-4 months (with the rest of the year being beautiful) over 3 months of crazy humidity, random ass storms (nearly every other day), mosquitos, and 6-8 months of soul crushing winter (lol).

People don't realize that on the strip all of that heat is bouncing off of the buildings and absorbing into the pavement (basically a convection oven) and that away from the strip, while still hot, the summer isn't nearly as bad as the perceptions (sort of like the Gobert trade wasn't nearly as bad as perceptions... BAM! Brought it around to be back on topic!).
