For what it is worth, I could see a team using part of their MLE to trade for Taurean Prince. Minnesota would get nothing in return (outside of a TPE), but it could be a potential option.

Apparently we are targeting Divencenzo or Bruce Brown with the MLE if we waive Prince & Jmac.

I really wanted Divencenzo in the 2018 draft but he was taken a few picks before us..

I actually just looked and Bruce Brown was also in that draft, Anfernee Simons, Grayson Allen, Melton were all taken late 1st or 2nd round...2018 was an amazing draft all around

Prince has apparently removed all Wolves related items from his social media outlets.

Bruce Brown would be a great addition, but I expect he'll get a fair number of offers for the full MLE. I'm skeptical that he would choose the Wolves who could offer slightly below the MLE (even if Minnesota offered the full MLE I think he's a longshot).

DDV could be a nice fit. He likes to use his athleticism to hustle and rebound, and his jumper looked faster and cleaner than ever. He's got the size and defense that TC covets as well. I'd be curious if they view him as a bench 6th man, or if they are projecting him as a potential starting PG post-Conley

I like Prince, but any significant change to the bench rotation will likely require redirecting Prince's salary. He's also fairly replaceable as a combination of Minott/NAW/Anderson can fill his minutes (with Reid taking a lot of Anderson's PF minutes).

Divencenzo is overrated and basically useless in the playoffs, definitely would prefer Bruce Brown.

Feels like a longshot though. I'm assuming he'll have a lot of MLE offers to choose from. DDV seems like the more realistic option b/c he's probably an 8 or 9 mil a year player that you could lure with a couple extra mil.

Eh Minny can do better IMO and there is no way Divencenzo is a future starting pg in the league.

I would guess the only two things that will draw him away are the money and being promised a starting role. I would offer both. Love Conley, but getting what could be a long term piece in Brown is a no brainer.

Has Jevon Carter been mentioned as a possibility anywhere, or is it assumed he will be going back to Bucks?

tenacious defensively, plays bigger than he is
not really a run-the-offense "PG" though, but he could play off someone like KA, ANT, KAT etc

the thing with Bruce Brown is that he came into the league as a PG, then became basically small ball "big" because of team circumstances

having a chance to go back to a guard role, even if its a George Hill type PG role, might also be attractive, rather than being a screener, dirty work player

It looks like Minnesota is keeping Prince. I’m fine with it. He’s a solid vet on a great contract. TC will be able to trade him later. But Prince’s and Naz’s return means a pretty boring FA period for the Timberwolves.

My clock. His contract is guaranteed on the 28th which is minutes away. If he was waived it would have been reported. It’s similar to Conley’s contract being guaranteed a couple days ago. When a player is being kept the team doesn’t say anything.

I was wondering the same thing. If we aren't waiving him, is it to use him as trade ballast for something already lined up or just keeping him?

Okay, that is what I figured, but it could just as easily be for a trade... It doesn't mean we are keeping him we still have to see if he will be on the team.

I wonder if the Wolves and Prince would agree to push that guarantee date back a few days. Than again I'm guessing teams are already wink wink talking to available free agents and have a pretty good idea who they might be able to get on day 1.
