Very good for the Lakers.

Not so good for D Lo, Rui and Reaves

According to Spotrac (https://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/), there are still quite a few teams with cap space. This looks like it is updated with the most recent deals. This also does not count teams that can use the Full MLE, but not sure how many teams that will be.

1. Rockets $59.8M
2. Spurs $37.5M
3. Pacers $32.2M
4. Pistons $27.8M
5. Jazz $25.1M
6. Magic $22.8M
7. Thunder $16.6M

Not sure who on this list would make a run at Rui, Reaves or DLO, but I am sure there'll be some interest. More so for Rui & Reaves than DLO. I think the best he may be offered is MLE money this year.

The Naz Reid deal is interesting because center is a weak position in this offseason. He however took what was perceived to be below market value to go back to a situation where they have two other dudes who can play center, making more than him, and a lot of playing time isn’t even guaranteed at this point. His agent must not have liked the market and he took what he could get now. You can make the point that maybe he knows a trade is coming but nothing is guaranteed and you’d think he’d want to at least sniff what is out there in a semi-normal year. That deal you would think would still be on the table July 5th but he took it now. Not even wanting to see what other options he had. It’s an interesting decision.

Wouldn’t mind Yuta Watanabe on the vet Min. To fill out the rest of the roster

We should trade AD back to NO for Ingram and Nance. Lbj to Knicks for Randle and Hart. Beasley to Jazz for JC. Anyone to Clippers for Zubac.

Dlo
Hart
Ingram
Randle
Zubac

JC and Nance off the bench
Imagine if Lakers were more patient in developing their players..

Do any of those teams with capspace have key free agents that they need to retain? That would happen to take some of there cap away?

Not really, Jazz have Jordan Clarkson and THT if they opt out, but I think their options being picked up are factored into the cap space amount so unless they get big raises it won't impact the Jazz' cap space. Rest really don't have anybody that jumps out to me.

Lakers considered Whitmore but viewed JHS as a surer bet.

Lakers consider JHS as a replacement for Schroeder. So I guess Dennis won’t be high on their offseason priority list.

Wish we did go with Whitmore to be honest. Would have been really fun to see him develop as a future piece alongside Reaves and Hachimura.

We'd be foolish to not at least explore a S&T regarding Dennis if we can.

In saying that if the Mo Bamba interest from Chicago is true, we absolutely should explore a deal for Caruso

We downgraded our Pg rotation (if the idea is just to replace Dennis with jhs and call it a day) and added 0 center, but hey, at least we have a plethora of 6’6” guys that can’t shoot. Because guys that can’t shoot and only pass and won’t even see the floor behind reaves/lebron are super valuable. Maybe we can get Jamal tinsley or Kendall Marshall out of retirement so rob can cream himself and finally get a team full of “playmakers”

A bit early to panic, i think. All we know is that they didn't do anything before free agency. And they still could.

It is indeed early I’ll give you that but I don’t like our choices thus far
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

What are the implications again if the team option on JV was not picked up?
