I can’t wait. Always loved the low-production scene of the Orlando summer league back in the day but playing in Vegas and late in the evening is so good. Those Orlando games back in the day were like 3pm or 5pm tip off’s. Brutal for summer time.

Not doing fans any favors by having three of the four games only be available on NBA TV.

I'm getting closer to the point of not caring about the NBA. I already don't like most of the "stars" and all the drama types at all. I didn't even watch a single playoff game this year.

That’s too bad. I thought these were some of the best playoffs in recent memory. I was tuned in every night.

What happens with TV for games is interesting. I have nba league pass because I don’t live in Indiana but the whole saga with Bally is interesting to monitor. And nba’s new national tv contract next summer.

I have NBATV and Bally but I think it's just a matter of time before the teams cut out the networks and create their own Internet subscription sites.

Maybe, if Bally (owned by Sinclair) defaults. But the Pacers just recently signed a new contract with them. I can't believe they did that, but no one else was going to make the team an offer for their rights, so.....

Did you see what the Utah Jazz did? That is really fascinating.

I did see that. I'm not sure what the economics are, or how viable it will be long term. It seems I remember their previous owner, Miller I think, had partial ownership in a couple of their local stations? Maybe there are still remnants of those relationships that might be valuable to them as well.

EDIT: I just re-read the news blurb. The station they have struck a deal with is owned by Sinclair. Yes, the same Sinclair that owns Bally Sports. It seems Utah has made a deal with the devil to avoid making a deal with....the very same devil. Makes me shake my head in dis-belief. Will people never learn?

I'm a big Brown fan but he needs to develop a shot. Hope he signs the tender.

I don’t like how this reporter worded this. Shouldn’t it have said Brown becomes a free agent if he doesn’t sign the 2 way tender ?

I read the Dustin Dopirak(from the star) free agency story on Twitter and thought it was informative. I’ve been following Dustin on Twitter and he’s not too bad for an Indy star person. I’m shocked I’m saying this. :o

My wish list is Hachimura then Kuzma. I imagine Grant Williams would be a good choice I just don’t know that much about him. I was intrigued by Georges Niang although we need to spend more in Free Agency than his salary would be.

I’d love to get 2 of these 4 players if we can move Duarte. I really am not concerned with blocking the growth of Walker, Nembhard, or Sheppard as they’re so young and will get second team minutes if not first.

I hope the signing surprises me as I want more of a 3 than a 4 now that we have Walker and Nwora.

No. He is a restricted free agent now, and could sign an offer sheet with another team. Indy offered him only a 2 way contract, while another team could offer him a standard contract, or more.

He’s a free agent, but Indy would have the rights to match any offer sheet submitted, so he’s a restricted free agent.

Ha no friggin way the Pacers are interested in 6’5” Strus. We already have Mathurin, Nwora, McConnell, Nembhard, and Nesmith who I consider all are at least as valuable if not better.

Seems to me that Kendal Brown is a league average 3 pt shot away from being a solid rotational player. I view him a more valuable asset than Jalen Smith. That said, did he show enough last year to entice a team into offering him a standard contract? Is there a guy on the Pacers who would benefit more from a strong summer league showing?

It’s poorly aggregated. Original report was basically “teams heard the Pacers were preparing an offer as of before the draft, but those plans have changed”.

I don’t think he showed that he’s anywhere near an nba player yet. Obviously that injury hurt his chances a lot, but he really just drifted in his few nba moments.

Like Scoot I feel he’s not had a chance to show off his talent in the NBA yet. He got a few opportunities in G league. I think he will gladly sign the 2 way contract and hopefully he puts together a solid year with the Max Ants this season. He’s very young with some definite upside and just needs to mature. He only played 1 year in college before we drafted him. I’m thinking if he’s bought in on staying the Pacers will try to grow him into a roster spot eventually.

summer league will be a test to see if Brown has improved his shooting.

There wasn’t much to watch last season. The few times I saw him he looked solid on defense. Don’t recall him looking lost at that end. Not sure he was ever engaged on offense. At the end of his one year at Baylor something went south. He went from projecting to late lottery to not being on the floor regularly. Wonder if he would have been better off in the transfer portal than the draft last year?
