Someone making a lot of money in nba FO crying about having to work. :nonono:

I look at this way, they already have it bad, right....the FO cap guys has to come up with ways to please the management in finding ways to save money for the owners and shareholders, also find the loop holes and solutions for the GM's to look good in trades and bolster the team. As well as have the compounding affect of pleasing the fans and players who play for that team by finding every which way to squeeze every penny into every bucket without overfilling one more than the other. if this wasn't already hard to do, now the new CBA forces you to be Houdini and make tough decisions that will piss somebody off when you tell them they can't do this anymore, and then hear back find a fcking way....and then go back to the drawing board....I can relate kind of feel their pain.

I don’t see it that way at all. The cap guy just has to see how the numbers work. There is no magic way for a cap guy to make max contracts somehow count less. You want to save money? Ok get rid of this guy and that guy. Or don’t pay this guy that. It’s pretty black and white. You want to sign these guys and this is their contracts? Well this is how we’ll be impacted. Dude runs the numbers and give advice or say such and such move is not possible under cap. The rules of the game are clearly defined for him.

Who has the hard job? Well the person that has to try to convince a player to take less or a team to trade with you. Or the person evaluating talent. Those are things that are partially out of your control and takes some amount of art and luck. A cap guy? Thats science. Write a program or use a spreadsheet. You can see if something works or not.

Huh

Someone is going to regret paying Harden this money. He can't score like he used to. Still an elite playmaker though.

He's probably Phoenix bound but that would be a solid addition to our bench for the vet min.

CBA = collectively bargained agreement between the teams and the players association

There are no secrets in there. What they got today is the “final” version that’s been blessed by everyone. But nothing in there is a surprise or a pop quiz. Everything in there is what the owners want or agreed to. You would think the owners mostly delegate the work of arguing their position in these negotiations to their front offices.

Herro is going to be the 10th highest paid SG in the league next year

someone take away Pat's ability to hand out contracts.

I agree with everything you said. He also gave us a lot of bricks in the finals too. Don't forget that part. I'm still in disbelief of the wide open shots he missed. Solid roleplayer nonetheless though.

If we're being honest and realistic that is actually Herro's range. He's definitely in that 9-13 SG area ranking.

Finals was not only a hard ask for even our top players (Bam 2pts 2nd half etc.) but would have been even more difficult for our role players, who, in that sort of high pressure environment needed our star players to deliver. But Butler was MIA & put too much pressure on an already energy drained & depleted roster (comprised of undrafted players) who hardly had any rest going into the series vs Denver - who were well rested and prepared going into the battle w/ us.

Besides fans tend to focus on the negatives. Many of our players didn't play well in the finals as Denver pretty much dared Bam to beat them on his own. Strus helped get us their. He ave'd 14.6pts vs Knicks, a team we needed to go through to get to the ECF. & helped carry the load off Jimmy after the injury.

Maybe but Pop is 74 and won't coach forever. Also the Spurs had great success with a young Tim Duncan surrounded by veterans.

They may try to repeat that formula.

They have the ability to pull off the first stunner which is sign Draymond to a 30 million dollar per deal. They can put the Warriors on there heels quick.

Don't think Pop is gonna try to stick it to Kerr by signing Draymond, but even if they offered $30/per I'd expect the Warriors to match (I know he's unrestricted but I assume the Warriors will get a chance to match anything). Unless the number is super crazy, I'd be shocked if Draymond doesn't return.

Warriors should let him walk. Wemby/Green is a decent start to a rebuild

Why do ya'll force me to crap on our guys.

are you part of the "but he scores 20 ppg" crowd? you know he is taking 17 shots to score those 20 pts right

absolutely there are 30 Sg's i take before herro.

Even the guy he's always compared to, Austin Reaves ( who shoots 52% FG btw, 13 pts on 7.7 fga)

the main thing i dislike about herro is his defense and his RIDICULOUS CONTRACT!!!!!!!

https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-top-25-shooting-guards/

He was rated 12th going into last season, behind Bane and Maxey who are both on rookie contracts, so that makes 10 accurate on that list. Poole and McCollum are above him and I don't know I'd swap him for either...

Return to Miami Heat
