Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLV
If the playoffs showed anything - Sacramento needs an effective rim protector at PF or a backup C that allows Sabonis to slide to PF.
The trade that would have made a ton of sense is for them to have jumped in on the Porzingis trade. But then, Porzingis would have needed to want to go to Sac.

So.. in order for the Kings to sign Kuz, they lose Barnes, Holmes, and a 1st?
Sounds like a terrible trade off. Seems like resigning Barnes and trading Holmes + pick(s) could have garnered much more.

Wish you the best, Kuz -- don't forget to close the door on the way out.

Makes sense. Both would help any team. Looks like Tyus is in our plans.
I get trading Morris/Wright for picks, but I wouldn’t be so quick to buy out Gallo. This team is going to need more than just Tyus Jones as a veteran mentor.

sorry lol I try my best. It's the dyslexia lol. It's mild but I do have trouble on apps with out more advanced spell checks. I proof read but I read it how it is in my head and it gets swapped around. I don't notice it until I go back a few hours or a day later lol. Sorry and thanks for putting up with me guys! What I meant to say, is TPE are going to be massively valuable!

They can still resign Barnes, just not with bird rights. They can use the MLE on him. Which honestly is he worth more than that these days? It's be a pay decrease but I don't think Barnes gets more than 12-17 a year at his current level.pcbothwel wrote:80sballboy wrote:?s=20

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLV
Chicago probably think they are a contenders with a healthy duo. I would ask for more for Lonzo. But it's really only saving you 20 Mill and a year on the deal. That's big, but what does it do for them. Gets them to next off-season where they have a metric boat laid of cap room to spend on who? You can ask for more but I don't know how much more they will pay maybe the Portland pick and some seconds?prime1time wrote:gambitx777 wrote:So some trades id like to see.
Bulls
Morris and wright
For
Lonzo ball and the 2024 protected Portland pick they have.
This gets them off of that long term Lonzo money and he can just sit on our bench. We have the space and the money and we get a pick.
NYK
Gill and Cooks.
For
Evan and our first back and that fake super protected det pick.
This gets NY a ton of flexibility. This allows them to use the full mid level, the mini mid level and work and extension with hart. Huge value for them getting rid of Evan so they can go full bore.
Det
Shammet
For
Bagley.
I'll take a flyer on Bagley to get rid of shamett
That works ld give us
Jones/Rollins/lonzo
Poole/Davis/Evan
Bilal/kispert/gallo
Deni/Bagley/ Baldwin.
Gafford/Vuk/muscala
find some decent 2 way guys may e huff and Jackson again but you move on. A little thin at PG but you might be able to work something out there.

Gonna need more than the Portland pick to take Lonzo ball. Plus we are giving them Morris and Wright. Two players that have value. Tbh, Morris and Wright are probably going to go to a contender.

In order for the Kings to have cap space, they would NOT have access to the MLE. Only the Room exception at around 6M. I cant imagine Barnes getting less than 10-12M/year.

I always thought once you used cap space then go over the cap you were then able to use the MLEpcbothwel wrote:gambitx777 wrote:They can still resign Barnes, just not with bird rights. Interesting. It seems like they feel they have too many development projects and are kicking them down the road a bit.
I don't think we have enough to understand their motivations yet.

That and I think they wanted to replenish the lost picks from moving up for Coulibaly.

I think this was delayed in the case the Bulls wanted Monte Morris or Wright as a PG. However, we may have a different deal
Lined up

If Kyrie signs with the Suns, Dallas will be in-need of a decent PG, we're in a good spot having two PG's

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLV
There is absolutely no rush in trading Monte and Delon. If they want to keep one of them as a backup to Tyus Jones, that's fine to start the season and then unload them. I know they don't want to keep both, because they don't want to be close to even .400. Try to get the best deal you can from desperate teams who lost somebody in free agency or to injury.

We'll still have Muscala who's a certified vet and Gill who's 30 even if he hasn't been in the league for that long. Plus with guys like Coffey and Cooks, I think there will be enough maturity in the locker room regardless of what we do with Gallo.

I think you have to trade one before the season starts, probably Monte. If the season starts and they're both still on the team, one of them won't get real playing time which will tank their value.
In terms of which of them should be the priority to be traded, I think Monte's value will never be higher. He's coming off two seasons as a starter, and since he'd be coming off the bench this year his numbers would take a hit. Better to trade him now while his value is high. Delon I'd be fine with having as the backup to start the year with and then moving him to a PG needy team at the deadline.
