PG- D'Angelo Russell (2 year deal starting at 17 mil) - Jalen Hood Scfinino - Aaron Holiday (Min contract)
SG- Austin Reaves (12.4 Arenas Limited matched) - Max Christie - Ty Jerome (Min contract)
SF- Bruce Brown (4 year MLE 12.4 starting 53 Million total) - Jarred Vanderbilt - Maxwell Lewis
PF- Lebron James - Rui Hachimura (1 plus one starting out 15 mil player option) - Oshae Brissett (Min contract)
C- Anthony Davis - Christian Wood (4.5 mil BAE) - Tristan Thompson (Min contract)
Ok go ahead and bash away!!!
No need for bashing. It's a solid plan. It's tricky to pull off because you may.ø have to decide on Beasley and Bamba before resigning the other guys, but if you know you can get Brown at the full MLE then for sure this is the way to go.
Not sure if Wood can be had for BAE, but there would be other options.

Yeah Wood was tricky. I’d also look at Willy Hermangomez.

But the plan is solid. Retain DLo, Rui and Reaves at price that allow us to use full MLE and BAE.
Saw Cranjis Mcbasketball suggest that we do that as well as waive and resign Beasley at lower number.
Maybe Josh Richardson at BAE, then split MLE on C and F

So that just didn’t like how thin our front court was. Would like a reasonable center to player the 20 games AD is sure to miss.

Any lineup with D Lo in it is a no starter. He only tries on one end. Sigh. Stop letting Linda Rambis decide.

He's polarizing but still one of the best options available. Given the market i think he could sign at a solid price.

He’s arguably the worst defender in the league. This type of player wins rings:

Dont be ridiculous. He's a bad defender, but he's not any worse than guys like Fox, Dame, Kyrie, McCollum etc.
But it doesn't matter because if he's allowed to walk we wont be able to replace him.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Currently 100m
+
12.5 Reaves
15 Hachimura
+
30 Kyrie s&t
=
57.50
Leaving 12.5m under 170
anyone know what this would do to our cap?
I know s&t hard caps you but would we be able to use that ~12.5 or any exceptions with it
Irving / Hood-Schifino / Harrison
Reaves / Christie
Hachimura / Lewis
James / Vanderbilt
Davis
In a shortened Playoff rotation Kyrie & AR can handle the PG duties, LBJ/Vando/Rui & AD can hold down 3-5, and a switchable 3&D (Max?) in between them all should be enough
But for the first 82 we could use some more reliable bodies, especially at the 5 and an off-ball shooter

Not hyperbole. He’s absolutely worthless defensively. Watch the Denver series again. What flank did they attack on every possession? Free buckets on D Lo’s side until he was benched. He literally plays no defense. That means he can’t be a core piece because defensive culture is supposed to be built during 82 games.
For me, any one-sided player is not of interest. D Lo is the inverse of Ben Simmons.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
DLo was an All star. Tenured. Experienced. Play at golden state. East coast. Well travelled journeyman. WE GOT R BEST VERSION of DLo this past year. He did NOT deliver and did not win the chip and could not be the third guy.
The GOAL IS NOT MONEY. The GOAL is winning. Just give us anything in the Denver series and we win, at least 1 game, but I say further than that, but still, DLo will bring disappointment every time post season comes around.

Well, I'm not gonna bash it......but 'dream scenario'?? This roster is super mediocre. You gotta dream big, man. This is more or less what we're prob gonna end up with, although paying more $$$. And when Lebron shows up that much older.....and AD takes his usual spot in the 2nd row of seats, we got a whole lotta .500 ball to look forward to.
I dunno....it's not awful (well it is when AD gets hurt, but I said I wouldn't bash it) but this can't seriously be the 'dream scenario' can it? I really hope the Lakers do better than this.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
AD can sign a 3-year extension for her $50 million a year soon.
How does that affect the cap?
I guess the extension wouldn't kick in until next season or the one after that.
But maybe that makes Lakers want to avoid giving out more than 2-year deals?

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Seems like the Lakers are waiting for some specific targets to become available, or they're being really conservative or both...
So either they're content with a similar outcome this season, or they legit think this team was closer to winning it all than it looked like to us...
Which is weird because, if you don't think you need a massive talent boost to get over the hump, then wouldn't you be looking at system upgrades? Like if it ain't the players, then doesn't it have to be the coach?
On one hand I realize they aren't going to fire Ham right now... Bad optics, etc... But at what point do you have to reconcile the 2 conflicting beliefs that the team doesn't need more talent, while also not needing a more effective system?

The Los Angeles Lakers want to re-sign Dennis Schroeder but also have other point guards on their radar, including Jevon Carter, Shake Milton and Cory Joseph, league sources told HoopsHype. "
