Kyrie Irving To Meet With Suns At Start Of Free Agency

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 29, 2023 5:15 pm

Kyrie Irving intends to meet with the Phoenix Suns at the start of free agency, sources tell Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

The Suns were interested in trading for Irving at the trade deadline before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks have long been considered the favorites to sign Irving. Dallas, meanwhile, has also been linked with a trade for Deandre Ayton of the Suns.

Please make this happen! 3 guards, Durant and praying they all stay healthy is Isaiah Thomas doing NYK style management at it’s best! Good luck Suns, it’s going to be a rough ride for at least a decade.

If the Suns were to acquire Irving via a sign-and-trade, they would be hard-capped at $172 million.

They need to finish the rest of that paragraph...

Suns currently sit at $175M in active roster contracts with 8 players. Meaning a S&T of Irving would require the Suns to send out ~$15M in contract value than they take back. Assuming Ayton ($32.5m) + Payne ($6.5m) are sent out, the most Irving could sign for is a salary starting at ~$24M.

Basically, Suns have no realistic ways to get Irving onto the team...

This is such a non story, the Suns have no way of signing Kyrie outside of the vet minimum and no way Kyrie is signing for that

Um... how can the Suns afford to pay KD, Booker, AND Kyrie???

Also, is the NBA gonna let Phoenix play with more than one ball?? They'd need 3 balls to keep all those guys happy.

Kyrie is such a clown - it hurts so bad. Like real pain. I wish he would just retire and walk to the end of the earth to prove us wrong.

This is just fake news. PHX is no way possible. Does anyone see Kyrie taking the vet minimum even with his crazy way of thinking

It would be a sign and trade for Ayton who is scheduled to make $32.5M this upcoming season.

More like Kyrie for Ayton (S&T) but highly doubtful of happening

It's all out of the lebron James hand book. Build super teams till you retire . This ends once there done competing with one another. Kd and kyrie are player/gm number 2 and 3. Lebron #1

Kinda feel like the "Brooklyn 2.0" snide really has no meaning - because they played so few games together. It wasn't a disaster because they couldn't gel (infact it was the opposite when they did play together) - it was a disaster because everyone was out for one reason or another and a few side shows Harden and Simmons.

i have noticed one thing for sure,,,kyrie sure does talk the talk.

i am convinced he has some svengali spell over the nba that he thinks and they(players and owners) believe all his BS.
there is a divergence in logical thinking. i used to think action speaks louder than words but the media continues to excuse him.

i get it that the job is not to denegrate but to uplift the nba stars, but there's away too much perverse rationalizing about the potential positives of a kyrie when he has done is to trash everything in his path.
