The Harden news is kind of surprising. Not expecting nor do I want the Blazers to go after him, but interesting.

I feel for any team trading anything of significance for him. This will be his 4th team in 5 years? Rockets, Nets, Sixers… insert new team here. Literally the worst player to bet it all on since he will just demand out within 2 seasons max.

Sixers and Morey better be thanking whatever deity they believe in right now that Simmons was totally shot as a player because of his busted back. As in all, they didn’t give up a huge haul to get Harden in the first place.

Barnes resigned for under 20M AV.

Hope that tempers the Grant deal. He isn’t like 12M per year better than Barnes even on his best day. Maybe like 2M.

Unless he has a handshake deal with Portland, that Portland simply can't refuse, there
is no way Grant would be able to find any team in this upcoming free agent market with
new CBA, that would give him a $30 Million/year contract.

Let's see if Grant agrees to a new deal prior to July 1

Pelicans letting Jaxson Hayes into UFA… maybe a good reclamation project?

we need to free up our pick from CHI to trade picks, that will cost

I'm kinda happy that our picks are tied up. Saves us from a desperation move that mortgages our future for minor win-now upgrades.

TOTALLY, TOTALY, TOTALLY agree!!!! Teams (not that many out there with big cap) aren't going to pay Grant 30 ml per, no way with this new CBA. Even the older stars are seeing the new harsh times, if we give him a 30 mil per deal I say fire Cronin!

Lol. Absolutely not that’s my nightmare. But I can’t relax until I see it doesn’t happen. Morey always fleeces stupid GMs. Cronin seems to still be trying to get Dame a star. It terrifies me.

Scoot has been working out at the practice facility. The longer he's there working out, unless he's
struggling, its going to be harder to trade him if he's doing well.

The Blazers have been known to trade guys who just blew up in Blazer practices but never had a
shot in Portland for various reasons. Moses Malone and Jermaine O'Neal were two prime examples
and I just hope the team doesn't do something stupid like trade Scoot/Sharpe to build a team
with a 2-3 year window around Dame.

Cronin has to avoid the stupid mistakes that the GM's like Morey and Masai seem to love to feast
on.

Splitting the MLE between Bamba and Prince would be interesting. I think Bamba should be a priority target. I would be happy with using the full MLE in Wood or Oubre too. Wood us freaking perfect for this team. Adding Wood + a starting SF via the Ant deal would make us a play in team at the minimum.

Hayes
Wood
Bamba
Those are my preferences in order. I think it takes the full MLE to get Wood, and Hayes is probably a 6-8 million guy. Hayes + McDaniels would be awesome. Hayes + Oubre or Prince isn't bad either. Maybe I'm lying to myself but right now I think he'll be cheap enough for us to make other moves.

Looking at Bamba's shooting splits on three pointers:

Left corner: 0%
Right corner: 41.7%
above the break: 39.4%

He can be a really valuable floor spacer as long as you keep him away from that left corner.

Paul Reed is the other guy I'd like to sign. Great hustle player

The idea of Bamba is similar to the idea of Cam Reddish IMO.

He has all the tools you could want but it just doesnt click - the guy got 10 total minutes of playing time for LAL this year in the playoffs. And they were pretty starved for big men with size. Tristian Thompson got more run than him.

He isnt a rotation guy if you want to win games. Mike Muscala would likely bring better minutes than Mo if we want a stretch 3rd string big man.

I wonder if GMs over-pay in order to not get black-balled by agents.

I'm pretty sure any trade would have been made by now, unless something new comes up, like Giannis or Joel Embiid demand a trade to Portland.

Watford wasnt a net negative, but his skills really didnt fit the team very well. Master of none whos best attribute was probably high post passing - which is an odd key skill for a backup.

Good kid, but no room at PF w/ Grant (probably), Murray, Walker and at times Little - and likely a sign we are going to target more size at 3rd string C.
