Barnes and Grant are in the same tier. Let's hope we can get a similar deal done.

I don't think you could find a better comp for Grant. A 6-8 tweener forward, almost identical fg% , low rebounding, assists, steals over the last few years.
The big difference is in usage - Jerami has jacked up a lot of shots over the last three years for horrible teams. Before that, he had low usage for better teams in DEN and OKC ,and his overall numbers looked more pedestrian. Rival Gms know this.
Jerami is a better defender, and is almost two years younger. Barnes has had a much better TS% over the last few years.

I'd give Jerami the nod, but they are in the same tier.

If Dame goes, it is sign and trade for him.
If Dame stays, anything over 20 a year is an overpay.
Being Portland, we always overpay.... so 25.
3 years would be nice.
As long as it is not as bad as an Evan Turner contract.
Grant does not garner a 4 year 120 mil contract.

Fair value 65m/3 years
"Look Dame, we're trying" value - 85m/3 years
Blazers Overpay value 120m/4 years.

At this point, I hope we play hardball with 65m/3 years. If he signs, we get a good player on a tradeable contract, which works whether Dame stays or goes. If he doesn't sign, it will prompt Dame to request a trade, which IMO is what's best for everyone.

For me it's basically Dame for 95 mil annually at that point which is not worth it even for an elite player. Jermi is good not great, won't add many wins

Let's not forget Blazers dodged the catastrophe of signing Chandler Parsons for a 100 mln deal that summer

I think Dray's deal set a great top apron for a future Jerami's contract.
There is absolutely no reason to make Grant's services more expensive at all.

Dray 25per, Grant 32per. Common now, this ain't our first rodeo.

That is a lot of money for a pretty average player.
