I like this pickup. In my observation, Turkish players have been some of the more resilient foreign players when it comes to finding their place in the NBA and keeping up with the grind of long nba seasons.

Guys like Hedo and Memo Okur worked their way to borderline All-Star peak despite starting their career as role players. Then there's guys like Osman and Kanter (via Kentucky) who stuck around and become rotation player. Ilyasova became veteran NBA journeyman that provide toughness and shooting. Our very own Omer Asik was a second rounder who knew how to maximize his strength and was pretty solid before career ending injury. Korkmaz the "Chicago Bulls Killer" fell out of Doc's rotation last season but before that he's proven to be a solid scorer off the bench. Sengun seems to be outworking Rockets other higher profile young prospects.

I mean Bitim can end up anywhere between Osman or Kutluay (a once Seattle Supersonic Turkish signing. A flop of course). But I like the traits that Turkish player always demonstrate. Their resiliency and willingness to adapt to stick in the NBA. I think they have the least problem in terms of dealing with US or NBA culture shock, compare to other European nationalities.

Again, this is just based on my very casual observation. Take it with a grain of salt of course.

I've been following him since he was 15/16. Back then he was considered the 3rd best player in his age group (after Doncic and Dzanan Musa) and was the most athletic (white) european guard I had seen at that age. Was also considered a bigger talent than Furkan Korkmaz and Cedi Osman, the other two turkish wings.
Then went to the US to play High School with MIles Bridges but unfortunately his development stagnated for a few years but finally starting to show the potential he had again

Only way you could tamper with them is if their draft rights were held by another team and you spoke to them to engineer a trade.
Better that than getting Fran Vazquez'd.
