Honestly, that would be a good deal for the Clippers. They get out from under George and Powell's contracts, and they can either resign everyone if they have success, or have almost no contracts in 2024 and completely overhaul the roster.
But they don’t want to overhaul; they want a good team in place for their new stadium.

James Harden "extremely upset" that he's not that good a player any more and that teams won't throw stupid money at him.

They used that money to sign PJ Tucker. Is it possible that they had some kind of understanding on his next deal? Is it possible that they broke some promise that was made to him? Reports are that he is 'Extremely Upset' By How Sixers Handled Situation.
That’s certainly the vibe I’m getting from the wiretap story. A wink wink I’ll save you money now but get it on the back end and I think they’re lowballing him on years. It’s fine for the 76ers to do that. He doesn’t have FA suitors ( the Rockets play was constantly peddled to the media and an obvious leak/ negotiation tactic) and they called his bluff. They have leverage and want to to pay him for the player he is, which is wise given his age and the fact that the Texans ceiling wasn’t a serious title contender.
Honestly if they get a package of wing/ depth from the Clips they’ll be better off. They’re still not top 2 team in the conference but much more flexible and will have contracts that’s could possibly help them level up
I just don't see any trade for Harden that makes the 76ers better. Playmaking is the biggest hole in that roster and despite his flaws Hardens still ine if the best playmakers in the league. Nobody on that Philly team can run an offense. They're not filling that gap with any trade to the Clippers.

Harden was played by Daryl all the way from the moment he demanded a trade from Houston…. He thought Daryl and him are unbreakable duo, obviously it is not the case

Harden wants to win but only in a place where he can be the centerpiece and also get paid.TinmanZBoy wrote:1, Harden should have taken Brooklyn’s max extension, secure bag first then think about his move… if he committed to Nets, him and KD were potent enough, at least contending…
2, His hamstring injury basically closed his superstar status, even Daryl Morey would not give him max and commit to him
3, really don’t understand what he wants now, money? Championship? Clippers and Knicks will not give him better chance to win a championship, and they would not give him max either
That part of his career is over but like many former superstars he's the last one to realize it.
At this point no one seems willing to pay him superstar money or let him be their #1 so he's gonna bounce from situation to situation hoping the next one is better.
The feedback I've received from our fans is they understand we are trying to build something great. Good decisions come from having a broad set of options and making tough calls. We will do it unblinkingly. We have to be willing to take smart risks-Hinkie

Difference is, Sixers fans wanted Harden gone, Net's didn't. Sixers still have Embiid and Maxey.
can we really trust embiids health at all. The guy is 300 pounds and doctors thought it was smart to advise him to fall on the ground to avoid knee ligament injuries. 82 games sheesh, thats a lot of weight constantly hitting the hardwood, and embiid aint getting any younger
He just won the MVP, and if it weren't for the Nets intentionally trying to hurt him on every play, he wouldn't have been injured. The last two post seasons, his injuries have been caused by players, or has involved a player felling him intentional or unintentional. But yes, lets call him injury prone.
The Nets never attempted to injure Embiid. Embiid on the other hand deliberately tried to take out Nets' players with low blows and "accidental elbows" which seemingly happens every year with him... Either dude is extremely uncoordinated or dirty, take your pick

Harden, RW, KD, CP3, and PG have had a such a HBO wwe esque storyline that seems to never end, so this would just be the next chapter.
It's pretty crazy the overlap between the teammates between those 5:
09-12- KD, RW, Harden- OKC
12-16- KD and RW - OKC
17-19- Harden and CP3- HOU
17-19 RW and PG- OKC
19-20- RW and Harden - HOU
21-22- KD and Harden- BRK
23- KD and CP3- PHX
23- PG and RW- LAC
24- PG, RW, Harden?
Interesting facts:
- All five have played for the Thunder
- 4/5 would have played for the clippers (if Harden gets moved there)
- 3/5 played for the Rockets
- 2/5 Played for the Suns, Nets, & Warriors

So embarrassing for the Sixers. I can't believe they lowballed another star. Who could they possibly get that could be better than James Harden now? It's not like they are a poverty franchise, they could have paid him what he wanted.
Once again the Clippers have a star fall into their lap. And somehow I still don't see this working out for them.

And, no, I obviously do not consider GSW a Durant-led team. They won a championship before he went there and after he left.

It has Clippers written all over it, but do they even have any assets left apart from P? 76 won't wanna have Zubac.
Suns not happening, Harden had enough of that clown kd.
Knicks not happening, they got guards.
I guess Blazers, why not.

People are sighting Ben Simmons' situation as an example of Morey holding out and getting a better offer. However Ben Simmons was younger and locked into a long contract. Harden is old and on an expiring deal, i can't see Morey dragging this out till February as his value is only going to get lower.

Have people not learned about holding wins and losses against young players yet? We used to say this same stuff about Devin Booker. Haliburton was not the reason the Kings sucked. Nor was he the reason the Pacers struggled (they actually played well when Haliburton was healthy).

Terrance Mann, Norman Powell, and Robert Covington and picks ought to do it I think. Would heavily help 76ers depth.
