didnt they just sign pat mcafee for hundred something million dollars? they are paying alot for stephen a. too, looks like they are condensing their investment in few visible talents.

still, mark jackson should have been the first one out

I think Pat got his show straight through Disney main guy and not ESPN boys.

Personally I got tired of his whiney, one sided broadcasts. Sometimes he hurt the hype of a game as he didn't even seem like he wanted to be watching.

Glad to see him go.

Espn commentators are pretty unwatchable with Burke (who was once good), Stephen A (who is talented but not serious), Perkins and even Wilbon. No chemistry.

I didn't particularly like JVG and Jackson, but it worked for many years and was entertaining. And Rose was the only thoughtful one during the halftime show. So pretty bad decisionmaking here, even if it's just a financial exercise.

Good. Get rid of more. There’s a lot of terrible personalities there that need to be replaced.

Good riddance to Rose, he was annoying with the loud mouth hip hop references and "Got to give the PEOPLLLLLLEEEEE what they want" intro.

I could see him on FS1 and be more tolerable in a different less comfortable environment where there's more NFL and not many NBA heads around.

JVG will resurface maybe on TNT with his bro.

Either case both will be ok.

ESPN is barrelling towards the Stephen A. Smith 24 hour network.

I just want Big Perk to go. Easily my least favorite personality.

Should fire Mark Jackson too while they are at it.

Poverty network

JVG will probably go to TNT. I don’t know about Jalen, maybe NBATV?

Good. We need any wee bit of coaching competency we can get.

That got thrown out the window when they announced Kidd would be retained. JVG is just going to be a crybaby has-been that has no feel for the game in the modern era. Anyone who watches NBA games on ESPN these past 10 years can tell you his job is just to bitch and moan about anything and everything without any real solutions

Maybe that crying will get Kidd focused. It can't get much worse, really.

There’s prob 6 people at ESPN who would get jobs at NBC if the nba moved.

How much do these guys make? Like 300k or something? If it's under half a mill, I don't get how these guys are killing their budgets unless they are trying to dwindle the ESPN company as a whole to like 100 or 200 people.

Wow, really the end of an era in NBA broadcasting. TNT should welcome him with open arms. Curious what Mike Breen thinks about this, if he cares enough to do something like threaten to leave over it.

Jeff single handedly wants to kill all the Ad revenues of broadcasting

I love JVG though. I have a friend who works at an ER in rice military area, they used to see JVG a lot. Very nice and approachable guy (considering it's an ER, stress level, etc).

I switched my ER there for a while just to see if I could bump into him, no luck

Van Gundy gone but Jackson and Burke still have jobs? Absolute joke.
