A few decent players leaking through on these option declines. Prince would be a good add at the TMLE.

Wouldn't Watford be a restricted free agent now? Feels like a mechanism to maybe just bring him back on long term deal. Maybe I'm off.

NOP is doing the same thing with Herb Jones. His max right now with 2 years of service is like 4 years, $50M. If they picked up his option though, next year he'd be eligible for a 25% of cap max. They let him hit RFA now so they can can sign him cheaper overall (but more money now).

Watford obviously isn't a max guy, but wonder if POR is doing same thing on a smaller scale.

Eh. Haven't watched him a ton during the 2 seasons he's been in Portland. But in college was an absolutely terrible defender. And was a volume scorer, rather than an efficient one. That's why he went undrafted.

I only consider someone to be a Grant replacement if they could be a solid top 8 rotation player during the playoffs. I definitely don't see Watford as that type of guy..

Maybe take a flier on him as an end of the bench guy with some upside, but I'd probably rather sign someone like Bazley or Garuba who can actually defend.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Makes sense to me. Both these guys seem to have earned their keep.

Espn nba coverage has sucked. They got rid of all their journalists and now it is just hot takes. Their broadcasts also suck. They got wrong people in charge of editorially coverage on a beats imo.

I dreamed we traded Brogdon for Kevin Willis, Grant Long, and Efthomios Rentzias. At least in the dream Rentzias was a mildly promising young PG.

Zach Lowe's got a nice podcast, that's about it. Forsberg turned in better writing for them than he does NBC Sports..

I don't understand why you would buy Draft Express, keep Givony on payroll, and trash the site. Just do draftexpress.espn.com ffs

Andrew McCeltic wrote:Makes nooooo sense. Portland media's high on him, he's CHEAP, he's got a sneaky way of attacking the rim from the top of the key, he hit 39% on 1 3PA a game, which means he can at least knock down wide open looks when he's got time to gather.

Well, Portland seems to be cycling through 2nd round (or undrafted) PF's. They had Greg Brown (late 2nd round pick) and Watford (undrafted) and signed both to 4 year deals.

Then last year, they draft Jabari Walker late in the 2nd round, which gave them 3 young PF's at the same time.

Then they waive Brown.

Then last week, they draft Kris Murray in the 2nd round. So they're back to 3 young PF's on the team.

Now, they waive watford.

So, I'm not surprised.

They keep cycling through these guys and don't like having 3 of them at the same time..especially when they still have Jerami Grant (and Little and Winslow who can also play the 4)..

A lot of writing is really the product of editors.

Zach exhausts me as a podcast host. Endless monologuing. Smart guy but bad at audio.

But yeah - ESPN obliterated their actual written coverage years ago.

Tatum, Giannis, and Porzingis would be a nice trio.

No, he was flat out waived from my understanding. Any team can just swoop in and claim the rest of his contract if they have the open salary cap space.

Herb I believe had an option declined, but that still retains his bird and whatever other rights with NOP.

This is interesting. Houston's return to respectability could be really quick. Not gonna win a title with that, but it's a better environment for their kids to develop in.

I'm in on Pat Bev if it's a minimum deal.

We should use the TPE to try and claim Watford.
