I would like Mann and Batum. Dollar value is almost exact

White/Brogs
Brown/Mann
Tatum
Porzingas/Batum

Knowing Morey, he will allow this Harden situation to drag for a couple of months. Do the Clippers remain patient?

Adding onto this, let's say Philly manages to get Lavine and Chicago gets assets, while Harden ends up in Los Angeles.

Demar DeRozan
For
Brogdon, Pritchard, Kornet

Works in terms of salaries. Demar is an expiring, go all in for one year, and avoid any second apron penalties the following year.

Three team deal with Washington and the Celtics get Monte Morris and Delon Wright

Harden / White
Brown
Tatum / Hauser
Porzingis
RWilliams / Horford

would be unreal. Not gonna happen though.

Surreal even. If Harden came in with a "I'm all about the playmaking" and JB makes "I just want to shut down the best player" his mantra, this would be amazing. Very unlikely.

And could you imagine being Rob Williams out there wit Porzingis, Tatum, Brown and Harden?

Timelord: Coach, where do I need to be on offense?

Joe: Ummm.... just hang out near the basket, you'll be wide open.

Yeah if you can do it without giving guys in the starting lineup it’s a no brainer. Ball handling and shot creating are the Achilles heal here and that’s solved in spades. Plus without overtaxing that old guy.

All Pat Beverly, all the time...

https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2023/06/celtics-are-potential-suitor-for-patrick-beverley-in-free-agency-report.html

Analysis

It’s hard to envision Beverley seeing much of a fit for himself right now for Boston’s current roster without more movement in their backcourt with Derrick White, Malcolm Brogdon and Payton Pritchard all under contract. However, if Brogdon or Pritchard were on the move in a separate deal, an opportunity could be available for a veteran like Beverley in a bench role.

The Celtics don’t have much to offer Beverley in free agency as the team is currently composed. If Grant Williams is a part of Boston’s plans (unclear at this point), the Celtics won’t have the ability to offer even the taxpayer mid-level exception ($5 million) and still stay under the second apron (which would become a hard cap if they use the MLE). Boston could offer Beverley the veteran’s minimum but odds are likely that Beverley may have a bigger market than that (closer to taxpayer mid-level) if there are multiple suitors for him.

Either way, Beverley probably won’t be among the first players to land deals as cap space is used on Friday night but is a player to watch as a possible bench option for Boston if there is more dealing to come in the backcourt.

Gross.

I mean, this was obvious after Smart was moved

Yeah. Someone like Caruso or Beverley to help fill the Smart void would be good. Someone to really bring that defensive intensity, the hustle, the energy. Really get after it on D, push the other guys. Bring good D out on the perimeter.

Caruso is obviously better but he's more expensive.

And Beverley had 2 of the funniest moments of the season last year. Bringing out a camera onto the court to show the ref the call that he missed, and that time the ref announced his decision about a challenge review and when explaining it he referred to him as "Pat Bev" lol. It was as if the ref and Pat Bev had plans to get drinks after the game

Oh and the year before that was when Beverley celebrated the t-wolves making the playoffs as if they had just won the NBA title :)
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Sooo why are people trying to dump Brogdan again? He was our best guard for good chunks of the year.

Kudos for a not lopsided trade proposal. Talent-wise, this is nice, though we'd obviously need another PG move.

Is the consensus that we want:

1. a cheaper back-up point guard somewhere in between White and Pritchard in talent level
2. a durable rotation big, whether it's Grant or someone else
3. a back-up wing

And to prioritize:

1. defense & switchability
2. offensive flow (off-ball movement, high IQ, connective passing, secondary playmaking in that order)
3. nothing below average 3pt%

seriously. no clue why the hate for someone who won 6MOY, shot over 40% from 3, was the only guy who provided any reliable offense off the bench, and makes a perfectly reasonable salary given his production.

That would force Tatum to be a PF, I think I want to play bigger this year.

But its definately interesting. Also would really like Caruso...

I also think that Brogdon and a grant williams Sign and trade would work as well salary wise.

White/Pritchard
Demar/...
Brown/...
Tatum/Horford
Porzingas/Timelord
