Burning a few trash cans and buses doesn't mean that France is on the verge of civil war, it means it's like a day that ends in y. I really wish that wasn't the case and things were a little more out of the ordinary because then we might actually see the governement have to respond to the demands of the protesters and address the rampant racism in the police force but I'm afraid that's not happening (not in a meaningful sense anyway, I'm sure they'll come up with some token gesture to pretend to care about the issue at hand).

So Clippers either get Harden or Brogdon?

Seems that way, yeah.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

After being linked to Williams and Strus, Orlando has indicated it is not going to be a big spender with the team’s $21.9 million in cap space, sources said. Rival personnel are expecting the Magic to retain swingman Gary Harris, who has $13 million in non-guaranteed salary for the 2023-24 season.

From Jake Fischer. Doesn't rule out a Brogdon trade - Gary Harris would fit here - but they can't take all his money and they won't poach Grant.

I am curious what a package for Harden would be.

I assume Powell and Morris? Dollar value is amost exact.

Leaves Philly with

Maxey/Melon
Powell/Korkmaz
Harris/House
Morris/Tucker
Embiid

Damn that would suck.

Embiid is welcome here though.

Harden for Powell and Morris
Embiid for Brown and Rob Williams

Maxey
Powell
Brown/Tucker
Harris/Morris
Timelord

Brogdon/Pritchard
White/Walsh
Tatum/Hauser
Porzingas/GrantW
Embiid/Horford

So it has nothing to do with Jaylen (and Kuzma) just being there last week?

Both sides of the protest are going to surrender soon.

I really like Brogdon and Draft Picks for Keldon Johnson.
He's young, fits more in the timeline,
he's good, his contract is frontloaded, so $20 M. next season and decreasing to $17.5 in 26/27.
And there seems to be some unwritten rule that Boston and the Spurs have to trade with each other.

Big deal for the Nets to shed Harris' salary. Should allow them to retain Cam Johnson and remain below the tax.

I thought Royce ONeale or DFS might have bene on the block for cost savings, and this could take that out of the picture.

I don't think I would trade Brogdon for Powell.

Brogdon is a scorer and a playmaker. Powell is only a scorer.

Brogdon is injury prone but Powell has also missed lots of games over the past few yrs. Brogdon played in more games than Powell last season.

Brogdon had higher BPM last season. Powell's BPM, offensive rating and defensive rating, win shares per 48 mins and VORP were meh - not one of the clippers better players in these categories.

Plus, Brogdon has chemistry built up with our guys. We know already that he's a solid fit on the court with our guys - we don't know how Powell would fit with our group..

I'm open to trading Brogdon, if it's the right deal. Flipping him for Powell isn't the right deal, imo.

How do Shams and Woj get the exact same information at the exact same time. I wonder at this point if their source just mass texts them, and it’s up to them who types it faster

Andrew McCeltic wrote:Is the consensus that we want:

1. a cheaper back-up point guard somewhere in between White and Pritchard in talent level
2. a durable rotation big, whether it's Grant or someone else
3. a back-up wing

And to prioritize:

1. defense & switchability
2. offensive flow (off-ball movement, high IQ, connective passing, secondary playmaking in that order)
3. nothing below average 3pt%

Works for me.

I like the idea, but Johnson doesn't necessarily seem like the right fit as a role player. His game is more built on being a top scorer. Could work in bench units though. Not sure he's the right guy to play as the second perimeter scorer with Tatum or Brown though when the other sits.
