Ohhhhh sh it, Jake Fischer confirming -
So Brogdon:
A. has a market
B. it goes through LA
The Clippers nearly satisfied their long-held wishes for better point guard play by landing Malcolm Brogdon in a three-team trade with Boston and Washington before the NBA Draft, but a poor medical evaluation for Brogdon nixed the deal. Los Angeles even re-engaged Boston about acquiring Brogdon in recent days, sources said.

As far as guards go we need another one that works around screens effectively. I'm no basketball smarty pants but I guess we will play drop even more and White's good, and Brogdon/Pritchard is not optimal for this.

seriously. no clue why the hate for someone who won 6MOY, shot over 40% from 3, was the only guy who provided any reliable offense off the bench, and makes a perfectly reasonable salary given his production.
robinson caruso???
Yeah I don't know too. And when Brogdon's gone, people will be pulling their hair out when everybody's just shooting 3s, and nobody except White is making a conscious effort to attack the basket, and why JB is playing as primary ballhandler for the 2nd unit too damn much.
Then at the deadline we'd be begging Brad for a big playmaking guard that can effectively play with KP, can be a triple threat on offense, and relieves ballhandling load from the Jays because Monte Morris or Patrick Beverley just ain't cutting it.

Brown could still realistically return to Denver, where he helped the Nuggets power past Miami to claim the championship earlier this month, but Denver is limited to paying Brown just $7.8 million. If Brown were to return to the Nuggets, he’d be eligible for a four-year, $50 million-plus deal. But there’s been plenty of word in recent days that the Indiana Pacers could be the team that slaps a lucrative deal worth over $20 million annually for Brown, sources said.

20 million for Bruce Brown! goddamn

It's not his talent, it's the payroll structure. With Porzingis' scoring, a serviceable 3&D point guard lets you spend money somewhere else. And we have a little too much injury risk now.

I know he is JT's boy but why would JT want a terrible basketball player on his team?

Delon Wright or Caruso
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Re: Trade/Free Agency Thread, pt 6, 2023-24 – (6PM [ET], Fri, June 30)
Yeah the idea of moving Brogdon sounds interesting, but who's the backup PG then. Pritchard isn't a playoff rotation caliber guy. And PG is the toughest spot to find someone who isn't a defensive liability because they're mostly small and can get hunted on switches.
Granted, it's not like Brogdon played great defense last year but he has a history of being solid and the size to at least contest. It feels like moving him will most likely result in us either having to play a defensive liability or if we go for someone who can defend we'll be lacking shooting and/or playmaking relative to Brogdon.

Please let the Pat Bev rumors be true. We desperately need someone with some old school grit (that’s not Grant “I’ll make ‘em boof” Williams) to inject some much needed attitude into this team.
Plus the memes will be off the chain this season if they are able to make it happen, especially if he can get Tatum/Jaylen/KP to adopt the “too small” taunt

JT was lobbying the NBA to reinstate one year of eligibility of 2-way for Giles, since he didn't play for a whole year or something most of the year, even though technically he was in the league. The league has not approved that at this point, and would have to make rules changes that would effect many players, so in the slightest chance this could change, it wouldn't be until next season at the earliest I would think.

Caruso would be great. The lovable ugly hustle guy. But why would Chicago want to deal him?
