If you are interested in espn stuff - follow Jack Miller. He has written books also. Greenberg was physically assaulted by Mike Golic and threatened to go public and instead got a huge payday from espn….there’s thing that would shock you

Wait what??? So that whole last show with their families and Greenberg leaving Golic for a higher gig was a farce and they were never friends?

I figured Greenberg is the new company man at ESPN so he'll always be safe even though he really doesn't stand out on ESPN since the radio show ended and he's kind of bland now. I guess along with Van Pelt he's their person who they can say has some respectability universally outside the other talking heads.

Damn the names just arent stopping. I really liked Pollack. So its seems like ESPN is going to really string out their top tier talent and basically have them on everything, then just have a ton of mediocre to trash talent to fill out everything else.

Once they got rid of Kenny Mayne 6 years ago - I knew no one was ever safe. The cherry on top was trey wingo who was arguably the best employee ever.

Disney owns espn and DIsney has been in a world of hurt the last few years.

This is a myth. Disney's projected revenue for 2024 is $89B, was less than $70B pre-Covid. There profit margins are about the same.
Shareholders want more profit and the CEO promised more. He uses this as an excuse to cut salaries.

Announcers have little impact on ratings so if Disney ordered paycuts, announcers are a fair target. I still think the better idea is across the board paycuts but companies hate that approach.

I rarely watch ESPN anymore outside the games. I used to complain about all the talking heads shows but ESPN (along with the other sports networks) has gotten even worse.

Now if you watch ESPN it is basically all gambling promotions which is extremely gross. It seems into games now too which ticks me off.
