Troy Brown Jr
A thread when we acquire a new player. Easier to tell what’s up from our Wolves page.
He’s better than Prince. More steals. More threes. Better FT shooter. Improving where Prince was declining.

Definitely an upgrade to get someone approaching his prime instead of someone declining from it.

Check out player comparison
Not bad. I forgot that he can really fly. In-game dunker.

Re: Troy Brown Jr
He cooked the Wolves in a game or two last year in head to head match ups but I don't think he's an upgrade over TP. More of a longterm play on any upside he still has left?

I just hope he misses less games and can actually be not useless in a playoff series. Prince was not that.

I think advanced stats say otherwise.
He’s for sure an upgrade on defense.

Better rebounder and more switchable on defense. Less consistent of a shooter, but the hope is that as a 24 year old, there is room for development in that department.

Seems like you like him and Connelly seems to agree with you. At this point all we can do is hope that Connelly's judgment was sound. I wish we had the contract details.

I do like him more than Prince.
Consider that Brown did what he did against more quality players than Prince.

Re: Troy Brown Jr
Yet another big wing/forward with some playmaking/ball handling chops. I'm interested to see if the plan with this - are we going to play lineups with no true PG on the floor? If they can pull it off, it'd limit the ability for the other team to target anyone on defense. Or maybe it's just about finding the right skills for basic drive and kick basketball.

So we only committed one year to him. That means we didn't like him that much.

Would it mean we "like him more" if the 2nd year wasn't at our option?

Yeah it would. IMO if we liked him much we would have gone 3 or 4 years.

What if he didn't want to commit to 3 or 4 years at what appears to be low money?
Or maybe we just value flexibility more than a guy who figures to be our 9th man?

If the money is low then that brings us back to not liking him much.

9th man.
You need to fill out a roster.
Maintaining flexibility is a good thing as well.
I mean if we REALLY liked him we could've given him the full MLE.
