I hope you guys are cool with Colin castleton starting 30 games at center this year lol
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

I think what's going to make us all feel better is low the DLO salary will be. I mean they are operating under having the full MLE and Rui just got 17 so Dlo might end up being in the 15-18ish range, which is nice.

So we replaced Dennis,Lonnie, Beasley, and Brown for Vincent, JHS, Prince, and Reddish. JHS is a wildcard obviously, but it seems like an upgrade, atleast on paper focusing on next year only, mainly with the increased size.

If we get some internal growth from Reeves, Rui, and maybe Vando to offset the inevitable LBJ/ AD decline, with more continuity and Ham more experienced this team could make some noise.

The elephants in the room is obviously big man depth which is a must considering what we saw last year, and of course, Lebron/AD's health.

The only real wildcard right now is a Dlo S&T. It's odd how quiet it's been on that front, especially with very few teams left with capspace, if any.

Great news for the Lakers.

This, alongside Monk's deal last year makes the "signing with the Lakers for the minimum when your value is down" thing look better. Not saying it's true or not, but I'm sure other players/agents are taking notes.

I’m not a fan of spending that much on Vincent. Also not a fan of Cam Reddish. Lonnie is arguably the better player. Not a fan of the moves so far. I think losing Schröder will prove to be a mistake.

Ok, which ahole teams have enough capspace and time to make a ridiculous 4/98 offer to Reaves just to mess with us. Bill simmons has been blasting the idea for months now.

I agree with you heavily. Vincent’s stats if you look at the full seasons show he’s not a good three point shooter. I hope the lakers didn’t just waste their biggest FA capspace signing an undrafted guy who happened to have a hot streak in the post season.

Pelinka gave 84Mil. Coach wants this guy. I side with his defense. And we let schroder go for 26mil. Something happened to dudes stock.

We lost because we couldn’t stop Murray. We were 13 points away from winning three of those games. Forcing Murray to miss just 2 additional shots each game and we would have been up 3-1. That’s why Vincent was so crucial. Look at Murray’s shooting vs Miami vs what it was against LA. Vincent a huge part of that and before you say it, Miami played the same drop coverage against Denver that we did. Vincent just contested shots a lot better than any of our guards did.

Theres only 1 guy holding the MVP trophies. And it ain't the guard

And you really think some 12 million dollar center is going to make a difference? At all? They are not. AD did the best job of anyone in the playoffs against him.
You beat the Nuggets by outplaying everyone else. We have the team to do that now.

So the price was basically the same between Schroder and Vincent.

I'm pretty torn on this tbh. I think Vincent is a better fit in terms of the roster, and will atleast be more of a perimeter off ball threat simply because of his confidence to shoot and playstyle. But how much of a better shooters is Vincent actually? Based on the numbers, it's not significant. But he could also see a KCP type boost in his shooting playing next to Lebron and AD. It's kinda up in there.

I think Schroder's defense was his best quality, and I'm optimistic that Vincent will atleast be close to him there. Assuming the team is healthy, Schroder's playmaking and random 4th quarter perimeter scoring outbursts shouldn't be missed all that much, but Vincent certainly won't be bringing any of that.

I'm kinda torn. Schroder has the continuity/chemistry factor going for him, but honestly, he was far from the ideal fit for a lot of reasons.

I can't confidently say that this is an upgrade, but the optimist in me thinks Vincent has a higher upside in that role, while with Schroder we knew what we were going to get.

Waste of money to spend any real money on centers… not like we’d play them anyway. Don’t think we’ve had any playable centers during AD’s tenure. McGee and Howard doesn’t count.
